Yup, depending on other things, we could finish on 10 points and go up, or we could finish on 10 points and not go up. How's that for both positive and negative thinking? :) Pikeman96 (Wexford) - Posts: 2856 - 26/02/2024 09:45:26 2528212 Link 0 |
I'm staying positive. Even if it is Monday:-D

We need to hope Laois beat Leitrim and we win the rest of our games to have a chance of going up. Our next 3 will be difficult but not impossible to win all 3. Next one v Carlow is a big one

Leitrim could lose to Longford, haven't beaten them since 2018 or something, or Tipp either

When it comes to grassroots passion, Wexford Inter County Football is the real deal for sports fans! It is evident how committed these players are to Gaelic football and their community when you watch them give it their all on the inter-county stage. Also, their games inspire future players to love the game-both in Wexford and elsewhere amari (Longford) - Posts: 1 - 28/02/2024 06:11:25 2528755 Link 0 |

We're still without a number 16 in the squad that was announced last night. No Brooks, and no other recognised goalkeeper on the bench either.

Seen that. Hopefully Brooks and Bealin will be back for the next game.

I honestly believe that we can leave Dr Cullen park with a win but if our defence Is in any way leaky we might be doomed for yet another year in the basement division. Magpie2 (Wexford) - Posts: 456 - 01/03/2024 13:40:24 2529063 Link 0 |
A second successive 10 or 11 point win is a big help to our score difference. It was a very patient performance. It seemed like we were happy to " contain" Carlow before finally putting them away in last 15 minutes, very similar to what they did to Waterford last week. that was a tough slog, it took us a long time to brake them down, not helped by the wides, in the 1st half we seemed to kick them all wide of the left hand post, but in fairness we kept our cool, never paniced, kept to game plan and broke them down, hope things dont come down to score difference at the end of the year, we missed two open goal at the end, porter sheehan and lyones were all very strong in full back line, Stmunnsriver (Wexford) - Posts: 2976 - 02/03/2024 22:45:42 2529329 Link 0 |
Great result up there. Poor enough 1st half we kicked some wides. Steady stream of Carlow lads leaving after we got the goal. We were clinical when they started making mistakes. 3 points went out to 8 points in a few minutes! Well done to the players and management! On to the next game now! Massive game now between Longford and Leitrim. If Longford lose then they have no hope of promotion. A win would throw the final spot in the promotion race wide open and Laois bar the biggest collapse in history would also top the division. zinny (Wexford) - Posts: 1972 - 03/03/2024 04:18:33 2529346 Link 0 |
Actually taught we were poor and looked nervous for the 1st 15 mins but took control from there on and really our wides are what kept Carlow in touch until Brosnan's goal, fitness doesn't look to be an issue for us anyway lads were flying up for support runs even in injury time.
