Replying To daveboy:  "Flanagan was given a yellow card in the munster final. Therfore the CCCC don't review incidents where the referee has seen it and dealt with it. A lot of posters seem to not understand that incidents thar aren't in the refs report are only eligible for retrospective bans."
I fully understand the reasons but that in its own right is a technicality. If the refs gives a yellow then it doesn't matter that he gets it wrong but if he gives a red it can be over turned…

Replying To twbm:  "Of course they do. Munster teams in general are treated differently.
Do you really think a Wexford, Offaly etc player would've gotten off? Fahy's suspension had to be over turned because the 2 Clare lads was.
Do you think they'd fix a Munster final for 7 o clock on a Saturday eve?? No chance..
Practically all of the Leinster championship of televised via sky !!
I'm very happy Clare have a full strength team out and I hope TK is fully fit too but there I'd def a major bias towards Munster teams."
Did you actually read or hear what happened in the appeals? It was Galway that raised the technicality issue and Fahy got off. They then had to do the same with Clare lads. Why do you comment if you know nothing about it?

Replying To tiobraid:  "No major surprise that the bans were overturned. Bans rarely have been served for years. Did hayes/Duggan deserve a ban more than Flanagan deserved one after last years Munster final (certainly wasnt career ending belts...)? Less likely to cause major or career ending injuries...both deserved bans but rarely happens. Even from a club perspective I've seen our own club benefit from quashed or reduced bans. I dont see how there should be an appeal process for incidents like the two Clare ones. If someone gets sent off and there was an obvious error from the referee then that should be the only grounds for appeal. How can you quash bans that were reviewed after - whats left to review? Should also be very clear guidelines on trial from tv. Are all games reviewed after - if thats not possible then none should be.
You'd have to have a lot of respect for Mullane who refused to let Waterford appeal his ban. Galway most definitely should have accepted Fahys ban...and the player should have stood up and said he wasnt appealing. A real cowardly act that he clearly has taken no responsibility for."
Get over yourself will you. I'm sure you were saying the same thing when Seamus Callanan appealed multiple times against a red card against Offaly a few years ago. What a coward

It should have been a red card but the witch hunt against young Fahy is embarrassing. He went in with the foot and pulled out immediately on contact once his foot didn't land fully in the space between the elbow and the leg, for all we know he was trying to cage him in with Coen and Cooney on the other side or was expecting Reid to have to release the ball

I'm sure he'll enjoy himself on Saturday while you try to hold back the tears in front of the television

Where did I say that? I was highlighting the use of video footage to see what happens in an incident. It is hardly that difficult to understand?

Prediction time for tomorrow's games
There has to be a kick in Galway after the Leinster final. Still not convinced by cork
Galway by 2

Will Clare be able to hit the heights of 2 weeks ago? I'm expecting a big performance from Wexford. Heart says Wexford but head says Clare by 3

Looking forward to a great days hurling.

Looking forward to hopefully 2 great games this weekend. Fingers crossed for no simulators on show or no lads using a hurley as a slasher! No doubt though there'll be some controversy.
The Cork Galway match is anyone's guess. Whats the thinking on the Clare Wexford match. Have Clare shot their load or are they only getting going. My thinking is it is the latter

Although I'd like to see wins for both Galay and Wexford:
Clare by 5 pts
Cork by 3 pts

clare and Cork to win over weekend for me really looking forward to them.
One question about the munster final I should have asked earlier, do lads here think the very first free when Darragh o donovan shouldered conlon was a free?

It will be his 1st big test if Galway are up for the game. They have large men playing too.

Hard to know about a kick in Galway. I thought that last year too.
But I'll go with Galway to win a hard game by 2. If they don't make it very tight and intense in the middle 3rd then Cork by 10.
If Wexford turn up for the full 70 then Wexford by 1. If Wexford don't then Clare by 8.

Both matches really hard to call for me. I said clare might actually be more vulnerable now with the lads allowed to play and I do believe that. The psychology of the match has changed but i believe clare have a sports psychologist in with them this year so will have their work cut-out. Clare lost their discipline as the munster final progressed and the pressure came on and they tired mentally and physically. If wexford can keep them close I think a shock could be on the cards. It was interesting that Davy fitz mentioned he undercooked their warm up v clare a couple of years back and they were 11 points down early and lost narrowly. Wexford will have a defined plan for clares threats unlike lost teams in munsterer bar Tipp so this will be a different challenge for them. They will need to spread the scores. Clares consistency has been impressive. They will need it again I feel to beat wexford.

Galway v cork is the ultimate "Deaf Dog" match. I feel Galway will perform and I do actually fancy them v cork. Cork defensively still aren't right. I looked at both Antrim goals and felt the problems persist. Whelan and concannon will test them and Galway will bring a more focused physical appraicj rather than the ill disciplined one from the leinster final. Cork are moving in the right direction but all their 3 wins recently have not great credit to them. Waterford and tipp were poor this year and Antrim gave them more than they should.

Clare v Wexford -Draw
Galway v Cork - Galway by 3

The one thing I fear will come from the fall out of munster final is we will see a free fest tomorrow. Both refs are fussy and John keenan has been given a bad report from HQ for his munster final performance. I fear the rest of the year will be a fractured one littered with frees. We may have seen the best match of the year already with 5 left. I hope I'm wrong.

Looking forward to going to thurles as a neutral and giving the heart the day off.

I feel that Galway have a super team with huge power and hurling talent.. if they can click and get the head right they will win by 6 points..
I don't think Wexford have performed to the fullist of their capabilities yet... yes they had a great game against Kilkenny but there's def more in Foley, the 2 o' Connors and McDonald..... head still says Clare by 2 points :(... but you'd never know.
I'm very interested to see the how the Munster Leinster match ups go.. Munster championship has been open in the back resulting in score fests.. leinster the complete opposite... here's hoping for 2 great games with no agendas on the Sunday game..

I shouldn't rise to this..... But you're totally discounting a more decorated hurling county than yourselves.
