Turning point of game was Roscommon player Number 3 going down for no reason in the square after O Shea's point.

What a strange county. I don't think they'll win an all Ireland any time soon

Mayo management team can now rest players as they choose for six weeks, without impacting anybody else. My opinion though is Mayo were well ahead in S&C during the league so it could be a difficult championship for Mayo.

Game wasn't great skills wise, but it is still only the league, neither team at there best yet. Both teams were alot more defensive than i thought they would be. Mayo new full back line played very well, Coyne was very good, Callinan did well on Walsh, McBrien was a loss when he went off.
Ruane seemed to do a marking job on Conroy which kept both out of the game. O Donoghue and O Shea played well inside, Carr was quiet. So lots to improve on for Mayo, which is good to say after a win.

Great to see some of the Galway ppl complaining about the ref, thought it was just the Mayo fans that do this according to them..Joyce blaming the ref was poor form from a manager, he trying to deflect from the bad performance from his team, more so the first half."
Good man Tommy! C'mon the Rossies!! Hehe!!!

Wont make any difference now!! C'mon the Rossies!

We were schooled today. Turned down enough point scoring chances to win the game. Any talk of refereeing decisions costing us the game and we should stay at home for the round robin. We'll try improving what we can work on. Plenty of work to do all over the pitch. Congratulations to Roscommon.

Roscommons league was pretty similar to Mayo, they finished just 2 points behind.. This was always going to be a competitive game especially with mayo playing a league final last Sunday..

Roscommon full value for their win. Mayo gassed early enough I thought.

With a massive wind, in home soil, on a fast pitch, scoring a point from a free in the 3rd minute and another 23 minutes later says an awful lot about where improvement is required. Anyway this may be a blessing, and when the sun is high and the groups are sorted the lads should be fully recovered and ready for a tilt at SAM

Very limited analysis. Give the Rossies some credit.
Conor Daly got hit hard by O'Shea when going down for the ball from a bad kickout. In fairness to O'Shea, he hit all around him all day, as did the Rossies. It was a very competitive match and both teams gave their all. There will be a lot of soar bodies tomorrow and a few soar heads in Roscommon.

No harm to yous today.

Mayo have a great bank of work done already this year. You've 6 weeks off now to work away before the real competition starts imo.

Plenty indeed.. ye have no defence, no centre back, cleaned out at midfield, and 3 points from yer forwards...
Plus o shea up to his old tricks, off the ball hits and diving... Fair play to the ref for seeing through the rubbish

Well done to Roscommon, personally I don't think O Shea gives out enough hits for the abuse he takes. Mayo didn't shoot for points with 15 minutes left. Toss of a coin for Roscommon v Galway. 3 evenly matched teams in Connacht as league places showed.

Mayo will never win an All Ireland with O'Shea on the field.

Congrats to the Rossies and commiserations to Mayo. Rossies deserved the win today and their players were driven. Put in a real workman like performance and Murtagh and Cox kicked great points in 2nd half. Thought Rossies made it hard on themselves in 2nd half with some silly dangerous play by the keeper and backs but credit where credit is due. Would nt write Mayo off for the championship though. I think this might just suit them perfectly. Tbf I though the ref was very hard on Aidan Ó Shea especially in 2nd half. McStay showed great sportsmanship as always. Mayo still have a good summer to look forward too but today is the Rossies day. Well done!
