Fair play to Blaney whatever people say against the carrick team in the final Blaney still had to be there to take advantage. They generally found a way to win when looking out of it. Only worry for them is lack of a good man marking corner back, struggled against teams with 1 good forward like freeman, mc manus ect so coming up against teams with multiple top forwards will be a challenge.

It's the perfect environment for producing talent, Massive numbers, great facilities and everyone rowing the same way because they are winning, you see lads that are in the minor panel not make the match day squad at 17 but 3 years later roasting the lads that kept them out of that squad, hard work put in because they have the carrot of making the scotstown team and likely a championship. Harder to put in the same work when the carrot is playing junior football with aghabog and the likes with zero chance of winning.

He transfered 3/4 years ago and not been on a monaghan panel in that time which I believe has had 4 or 5 other keepers on the panel and some stage so he may be a good keeper but he isn't starting on every other club not a chance

Mulligan from Latton is the only keeper I'd have ahead of Forde in the county.

Hahahaha take that trolling elsewhere, I do think it will open up in the next few years when the older bunch retire but not to the extremes of going down. Laughable.

If he was better he'd be the number one.......... No doubt he's one of the best keepers in the county but Beggan is head and shoulders above everyone else and will be until he decides to pack it in. His brief stint in America which coincided with the 2024 National League proved that glaringly. ConyersHill04 (Monaghan) - Posts: 27 - 19/11/2025 11:16:51 2645257 Link 0 |

When you consider they have 8 on the current u20 panel I think you'll find they are going nowhere anytime soon.

I'd have to disagree with you there, everyone would have thaught Scotstown would have been caught by now and they havnt. If they only produce one star a year and bring him into the team it's enough to keep them at the top for the next ten years anyway. When you have the pick of players they do its that bit easier!

Well like I said before most clubs in Monaghan have many players transferred in. Jack the only player to my knowledge who has had a transfer in. You can make snide remarks all You want but other clubs need to get their house in order. Scotstown had numbers 20 years ago and won nothing .. they had a and b juvenile teams long before other clubs and huge numbers but they actually sat down with 5,10 and 20 years ago plans and planned for what you see now. Coaches were sent on courses and the club went and looked at clubs in Dublin etc to see how to run the juveniles. Other clubs in Monaghan sat on high stools as they do today and give out … veterngaa (Monaghan) - Posts: 937 - 21/11/2025 11:19:17 2645524 Link 1 |

Nobody is disagreeing and as I've said, there is an all Ireland (appearance at a minimum) in this team this year.

What did corduff win with their new transfer? What did Truagh win with their new transfer? Your argument is flawed. MonaghanMan44life (Monaghan) - Posts: 127 - 21/11/2025 14:01:41 2645548 Link 0 |

So basically its grand if you transfer boys in and win nothing? Have a day off buddy, it'll do you the world of good. ConyersHill04 (Monaghan) - Posts: 27 - 21/11/2025 15:53:07 2645560 Link 0 |

Show me where i was making that argument? Transfers at club level are nothing out of the ordinary anymore. Insinuating Scotstown, Carrick & Emyvale won their respective titles due to transfers is a flawed statement as many club have done the same and nothing has improved, I.e corduff & Truagh. How much of other keepers do you see ? Harps keeper was number 3 and his performance against Blaney was probably the best performance I've seen all year from a keeper.
