Inaccurate kick passing early on just handed the game to Kerry & ruined our confidence. Players returning from injury clearly not match fit. We missed 2 goal sitters but happy to keep it to 10 pts deficit in the end. At least 2nd half gives us something to build on. Loth will run through us unless we get our physicality back !

Never have I ever seen a worse 35mins in a Monaghan jersey.
Unlike the Vinny/clontiberet supporters in the group who like to make excuses, I put the full blame in Vinny's lap. The tactical set up or lack there of is unbelievable at this level. He simple does not know how to set a team up other than his normal effort of putting square pegs in circle holes. Somebody tell me I didn't see Karl O'C in for the throw in at start of second half?!

The injury issues which Vinny loves to pedal as an excuse is ridiculous, it's his and his back room teams fault for the injuries! The talk coming out of the camp regarding training etc is disgraceful and player welfare is non existent.

Vinny got lucky last year with the draw, we just about beat a terrible Kildare team (look where they are now) and made a semi final by default. If Banty etc was at the helm he'd have the big mouths at his front door Monday morning after that rubbish today.
Get that bluffer Vinny & his brother out of Monaghan.

Definitely. A large part of the game is not making poor mistakes and Monaghan made a large number of unforced errors today. Once the players are on the field the management can't control this part of the play.

Kerry didn't have to raise their game, they just had to wait until Monaghan fell away, and that's the real problem from the match, and not something a team who was in an All Ireland semi-final 10 months ago should be doing. It's been a problem for Monaghan football for years, even when they have a good team, their lowest level of performance can be very poor. Something I thought this team might have gotten over given how they played against Dublin last year.

There is enough talent and experience in that team to not have performances fall below a certain level but a lot of the players looked a bit half hearted, not wanting to front up to Kerry, lack of cohesion all round, and players not looking like they wanted to use their pace in attack in the first half. Kerry must have been surprised at how easy it was. There is no excusing a15 points to 2 scoreline at halftime. I can't think of any Kerry player being put on his backside with a strong tackle. The team looked weak,

So overall a really poor performance apart from a few players. It was like they'd forgotten the intensity neeed to win these games that they had last year.

If I was Louth or Meath I'd be looking forward to playing Monaghan. The question is can Monaghan rediscover the level of performance they've previously had for the next two games? It'll need one or two of the newer players to say I'm going to lead the team. Darren Hughes presence was sorely missed today - just on attitude alone.

The second half restored some semblance of pride. Agree on the injured players not being match fit. Woods and Wilson both looked up for it when they came in and should start the next day.

We are entering a very critical phase in monaghan football. It will either slide or we will perhaps rebuild to our advantage. It's been a disastrous 7 months let's be honest. We look unfit, not sharp, players completely out of form and a sliding club scene. Players leaving the panel not a good look either. Last year perhaps papered over the cracks but we have been found out today and all year. The body language didn't good today and I fear for us in this group.

The county are at a critical juncture. They are a squad on their last legs, with wholesale required. The advantage of being in Division 2 next year is that a rebuild can take place. Is Vinny the man for the job? I think he has to be given the chance at least. Is there anyone better?

Travelled with little hope but sense of duty to support a team under pressure yesterday. For the first time in a very long time, I could say that the team and setup let the county down. I haven't seen as bad as that first half since Fermangh 2002.
The few Kerry supporters beside us were actually disappointed at how easy it was for them. A glorified training session.
"What is up with ye're lads?" was asked a few times. We had no answers in the stand, or on the pitch.

Thus feels like a defining moment for VC. Draw a line and face Louth and Meath with some self respect, or call it a day.

Like you Eddie, I travelled with no real hope of beating Kerry, but looking at the team sheet, I thought we would at least give them a game. The first half was embarrassing, and I don't say that lightly. I would have been a supporter of Vinny for sure, I admired him for standing up to take the job, and he did a good job last year. But yesterday, it looked like we had zero gameplay to even contain Kerry. What was the tactic? What was the approach we decided to take? There was nothing I saw that even resembled a clear purpose. Look at what Louth did last week. They weren't going to beat Dublin, but they had a clearly coached game plan that would allow them stay in the game for as long as possible. What did we have?
We hung around a little after the final whistle,and a number of the team were swapping jerseys with the Kerry lads. They know that was the last time they'll see eachother on the pitch.
An era is ending for sure, which is ok, but if it ends in embarrassment, that's not acceptable for any county, especially not a county that always prided itself on hunger, grit, and being competitive.
