Declan Kelly gone from St Lomans - Who will be getting this job? Any names out there. It will have to be a big appointment. Any general update on managers in the county.

Frank Mescall Noted in the paper thatthe County Board were unhappy with one of the captains speeches that it was insulting to the final referee. Who was he speaking about?

County Dinner Dance Scheduled for December 2nd with medals as far back as 2008 to be given out!!!! which is a looooonnnbg time ago.. Think Westmeath won the league div 2 that year if memory serves me right. They beat Dublin in Navan.

Local papers reporting that both St. Joseph's Rochfortbridge and Colaiste Mhuire suffered very heavy defeats to Tullamore and Edenderry schools in Leinster Colleges during last week. Not sure what Marist, Moate or Athlone Community college are like.

I think Mescall was referring to the Intermediate hurling final. The joint captain was sent off so was unable to lift the cup so I think the other captain let the ref know about it.

Looks like its groups of 3 and the others haven't played yet. Athlone CC and Moate CS are in the same group this year. 7 groups of 3 teams seems an odd way to run the tournament, should cap it at 16

Marist away to All Ireland champions Naas next Tuesday. Moate have to go and play Ashbourne I think the following week, Athlone CC in that group.

Don't agree that Multy that were that dominant in the championship to deserve 7 players, reducing to 6. I would rate The Downs as the second strongest team in the Junior Championship followed by Bunbrosna and then Garrycastle. St Josephs are over dependent on Jordan McDonnell for scores, with Dean Slevin excellent at centre half back in their last game. Multy - 6, The Downs - 4, Bunbrosna - 2, St Josephs - 2 & Garrycastle - 1.

That's fair enough.. must admit The Downs were the team I actually seen the least of in the Championship, watched their first round against M'gar and the semi final vs Multy where they didn't really show up. Interesting to see we both only went with two forwards in the XV from the finalists..

If The Downs were the second best team, surely Ian McGovern should make the panel at least after scoring 5 points from play for Multy against The Downs in the semi final.

The highest forward scorer in the final outside Barry O' Mara were midfielders and wing backs. There were 4 points in total scored in second half in ideal conditions, forwards not high scorers on either side.

This this is multy dominance is poor especially in defence. Multy where the only team in the junior championship to set themselves up as a defensive unit and while they did this well they only kept 2 clean sheets if I'm not mistaken and one was against balinagore who were piss poor this year. While I didn't see much of the second teams so I can't comment on them from watching the first teams in the junior championship I think there would be more players from bun and Joseph's in the team

They also beat Bracknagh, Offaly Senior B football champions, in round one. Mullinavat were in theLeinster IFC club final in 2019. They must have a few good footballers.

You couldn't put it any other way. An embarrassment is right. And it was no fluke either, Mullinavat were full value for their win.
