I suggested four Shandonagh names who impressed me Leftpeg. Hardly a list of 10-12. Feel free to suggest any names yourself if you're able to.

Replying To BigSur:  "Young Scahill a decent prospect and will play county U20 again in 2023 so should progress along nicely. I believe he has younger brothers coming along as good if not better ! I am a believer in not rushing these lads and playing withing their age grade if U20 etc.

I see U19 finals on this weekend which might throw up a few future stars also:
Div 1: Kinnegad v Caulry
Div 2: Tyrrellspass v The Downs
Div 3: St Joseph's v St. Michael's (amalgamation of who ?)

What vintage is Paddy Holloway ? Always admired him as footballer for both club and county but didn't see much of him this year. Shane Dempsey as already mentioned will surely be hearing from Dessie.
Justin Barrett and Eoin Mulvihill impressed me for Garrycastle over the last few seasons - think they have been involved at county level before ?"
Senan Baker still U19?

Ballycomoyle, CFCW and Bunbrosna make up St Michael's?

Briain Cooney, Podge Quinn, Liam Daly, Senan Baker, Stuart Trainor all playing in under 19 div 1 final this weekend, players worth placed on county 20 squad next year and some with seniors.

Listened to Luke Loughlin's interview on Colm Parkinson's podcast, brilliant and inspirational stuff and all the best to him on his journey.

So can he play senior as well as U20 in 2023? The best underage prospect 5he county has produced since Heslin and I think he could be better. Himself and Whitaker are stars for the future. Both played together for Marist team which came close to beating Naas in Leinster. Naas went on to win All Ireland.

St Joseph's are from Streamstown … stand-alone club

The county u20 team were very good this year. Unfortunately the lads absolutely collapsed in the second half against Dublin after they got an early goal in the second half. They're several lads from that team who will be able to make the jump to the senior squad.

If Senan Baker turns out better than John Heslin he'll have achieved an incredible amount. Heslin has been magnificent for over 10 years.

St Joseph's used to be with Kilbeggan at underage but apparently Kilbeggan felt they could paddle their own canoe. Joes seemed to going well on their own - in the U19 Div 3 Final this Sun. Were Tubberclair amalgamated at underage not too long ago ? They are flying it now obviously.

Six Westmeath players named on Tailteann Cup team of the year, great honour for the lads selected with the likes of Lorcan Dolan and Luke Loughlin a shade unlucky. Ronan O' Toole surely get POTY at the ceremony tomorrow night.

Indeed well done to all 6. Another example of the positive impact of this tournament for participating teams.
Loughlin and Dolan probably not enough game time perhaps.
Did Leitrim's Keith Beirne do enough to win one ? Outstanding footballer and top scorer in the league this is for the TC. Leitrim went out at quarter final stage to Sligo on penalties.
Cavan with 4 might have expected another one.
McCartan had some season but OToole's work rate up front (as seen in recent county final) was phenomenal and should be POTY alright.

Look maybe I shouldnt have compared to him to Heslin but the Baker boy is a special talent.

Congratulations to Jack Smith, Kevin Magure, Ronan Wallace, Sam McCartan, Ronan O Toole and John Heslin on Tailteann Cup team of year selection. Well deserved lads
