Replying To CiarraiMick:  "Best of luck to Johnny Cooper in his retirement. A very solid and stylish defender that always gave his all"
Agreed a super super defender. I would have say you are underestimating him quite a bit by describing him as "very solid" . He was a lot better than just very solid. Conversely you are probably over estimating him a little but by describing him as "stylish"

Dubs back to their running best, getting goals for fun. Ominous.

If the Dubs don't reach a final this year I'd be surprised

Injuries threw a right spanner in the works though last year, so hopefully it won't happen again.

As it stands, with that panel, it's an AI final this year or bust

Shout out to all the lads who argued Cluxton was merely back up because of an injury crisis. Replacing a lad who has done nothing wrong. Not great for morale even if the camp claim otherwise.

Not at home this weekend
Had to rely on twitter updates
That was squeeky bum territory
Look forward to catching the highlights
Sounds like Kildare did their homework.. that's as close a game for many a year..

Maybe if Mayo had an All Ireland winner that wasnt over the age of 80 they would be bringing him back too.

Cluxton influnece on the camp (playing or not) will be immense. That winning mentality. He does has won more All Irelands than the whole county of Mayo don't forget.

Dessie buckled under the pressure it was a shocking decision… cluxton would also want to take a long hard look at himself coming back at 41.. ego springs to mind…

I was at game and Dublin looked heavy legged like they in hard training. Some of their shooting askew and a bit of poor passing but they did what they had to do. Kildare did well tbf and tbh I'm glad they still in the championship. Louth /Offaly was a really enjoyable game and Offaly did great coming back but Louth were the better team.

After that performance Kerry and the rest will breathe easily. No way that team are winning the AI, the improvement needed is too much, can't see it.
Either way Kildare should take a lot of the credit and go forward with a spring in their step!

Very strange. Brutal for the confidence of a player who was playing well. That could have ramifications throughout the team. Hard to know where the Dubs are. I was thinking they might pip it this year but not as confident now.

I'd have him on the Meath panel at 51 nevermind 41. The chap is a legend.

Ah Realdub i would nt write Dublin off on one below par performance. Also Kildare well up for that game. Jack Mac still has the pace and skill. As they say down home.Dublin were blowing out dirty petrol. Disappointed with the attendence considering in the noughties Dubs /Kildare would fill the stadium on their own. Noticed many Louth and Offaly fans leaving before second game. Maybe the gaa shooting itself in the foot with too many games.

I hear you Mick, I just didn't like our body language, but like you said, maybe they are 'heavy legged'. But they're lucky they have time on their side.

Not sure what I make of the whole Cluxton thing, but it's not sitting well with me.

Dubs didn't have a hand laid on them last week
No harm at all getting a dig in the ribs today and I can only presume that Kildare did their homework
Take it and move on, a lot more games to come and I honestly only see the grind today being far more beneficial than the cricket score win last week, you need to be exposed to see your weaknesses
Haven't seen the game but it was looking dodgy there going 3 down at one stage, listen they didn't lose, are in a Leinster final, where I expect a better performance will be seen, only scoring 14 pts but still winning, I'll take that, Keeping Kildare to 12 pts, it must have been very tight defensive game

Keep moving forward, I'd take a 2pt win over a 2pt loss any day against a neighbour

Realdub, not liking the sounds of your observations though, would have thought that after the Laois white wash that perhaps they got caught perhaps being too over confident
