Replying To Dealer:  "I'm in Shannon today and am really struck by the extent of expectation and optimism around for the Clare hurlers. It seems to be much more pronounced than in Limerick. I'm really pleased about that because that sense of challenge is creeping across the border. I know that teams now days run very tight ships but these sentiments do get back to players. Clare are coming to challenge us and they're not shy about telling us. The other thing that I never realized is the sense of disappointment in Clare over 2018 when they felt that they had a legitimate shot of winning that All Ireland that Limerick subsequently won. Clare wants to beat Limerick on Sunday really badly.

I'm incredibly biased when it comes to Limerick hurling at the best of times but I don't see it happening. I suspect that Limerick are now an angry team specifically after the Gearoid Hegarty miscarriage of justice in Ennis and the general negativity that's come our way in media circles really since the start of the year. I know that Limerick is the front runner and thus attracts the most attention and I'm hoping that this is reinforcing a siege mentality within the group. I expect that Limerick want to be the first team to bring the Mick Mackey home and I'm sure that's additional motivation if required.

I expect that the ref is going to let this game go. I think the country is demanding that he does so I think it's going to be incredibly physical. I'm expecting that there will be no soft red cards and that Gearoid Hegarty will only be sent off if it's a nailed on, clear cut case. Keenan won't be guessing like Lyons. I don't think Gearoid Hegarty will be sent off on Sunday.

If Clare are good enough to escape the Mean Green Machine on Sunday, good luck to them because they'll have earned it and they'll be entitled to go forward into the All Ireland series as favorites. I obviously don't think that this will happen. I also expect that Limerick will further improve from Sunday, This team is prepared to peak in Croke Park and will be even better with Cian Lynch back in the fold and Kyle Hayes restored to wing back."
Hope both Limerick and Clare lose!

Rockies, delighted to see that you're well and healthy. I was worried about you, as there hasn't been a gixx outta ya since the league final until now.

And now you're back, of all places, on the Limerick forum. I'm sure Limk ppl welcome your participation, though. Back with a chirp and a swagger believing, deludedly, in all things Cork. Your time away from the forum, it seems, has not been served well.

Coming back for the business end. Big game in Belfast at weekend… hoping to get limerick in football. No doubt you backed Louth against Cork?

Welcome back Rockies. Remember that question I posed to you before you took a sabbatical. The man I was referring to was Peter McDermott, who was born in Roscarbery. Cork won a Hurling 3 in a row '52-'54. Peter was by then long domiciled in Meath. He played in both Football finals eventually losing to Cavan in '52, he refereed the '53 Final and captained the victory in '54
Back to the present Clare Footballers beat Meath today. Perhaps they are going to have a memorable weekend.

While I won't wish ye luck for obvious reasons let's hope the only talking point at the end of the game is the quality of the hurling.

May the best team win

Of course I backed Louth against Cork. They quietened ye in '57, didn't they. You were probably at that one, but just don't talk about it, as Cork were 100/1 favorites to win it. But Cork just did what it had done in '56; calved on the course.

God ye were blessed that Ed or some other fella who can sing a song didn't want to rent out PUC yesterday. On any other pitch in Ireland, Louth would have taken that game.

I certainly hope Limerick draw Cork in the football qualifiers. Limerick has a better team right now; historically and traditionally no. But right now, yes!.

Interesting today to see how our lads perform. Certainly haven't been at their best yet, which coupled with obvious injuries gives Clare a chance.
Twill be a great battle but hopefully we can put manners on them and let them wait a 1/4 century for a Munster title!

With you the following statement applies… better be silent and be thought a fool, instead of opening mouth and removing all doubt!
