Great win for your under 20's yesterday. You certainly deserved it over the last couple of weeks having to play Roscommon, Mayo and Galway away from home in a very short time frame.
It was also unfair that Galways semi final was played before Sligo's quarter final, giving them an advantage.
Galway really put it up to you, scoring four points in a row and were leading going into injury time. Galway will have regrets as will Roscommon as both teams have some very good players also.
That is not to take away from the Sligo team who showed determination and the will to win, played as a team (unselfish) and had a particularly talented full forward line. Your keeper also made critical saves near the end
Hopefully the team can keep the good run going and go all the way.

Replying To eoinog:  "The best ever performance from a serious bunch of players. What resilience shown to keep clawing back, never giving up and ultimately doing the triple crown. Beat the 3 big dogs, all away from home. These lads over the last 2 years have seriously lifted the profile of football in the county. Our supporters outnumbered Galway. Congratulations to the entire panel of players and management."
I think of Sligos 3 performances in this U20 championship last night would be ranked 3rd but a lot of that would be down to playing their 3rd match in 14 days and Galways first for two weeks.

What was needed more than the first two wins was grit, determination and character to pull a win out of the bag when two points down approaching added time.

I'd give Sligo a more than decent chance against the Munster champions next and it could be Cork if Kerry produce a similar performance as they did v Clare. Kildare, Derry i expect to prevail on the other side of the draw both look very strong although Down and Dublin are decent also.

Absolutely unbelievable, to win with three away wins against the big three, just incredible. Congrats to the lads and management, you have made a lot of Sligo people very proud. We are in a good place that is for sure. A few years ago I put on here that we should be trying to emulate Roscommon and what they have done and not to worry about senior football. It looks for all the world that we are the new Roscommon and the hard work is coming to fruition. I have been watching Sligo underage teams for decades and I do not remember a more unified group. We truly have every corner of the county covered typified in the winning point coming from the most unlikely of clubs. I think we should be patient with this group, allow them to grow and flourish. I really think we have the stuff to push this all ireland! Lets do it!

Fantastic achievement to win given the tough route we had and losing Matt Henry early on. Great credit to the management and the whole panel of players as the subs had a big impact when they came on. Our net minder played a blinder too on some close range shots. As one poster said let's be patient with this team give them 3-5 years and see where it takes them.

I wonder where is my good friend Leitrimdivide now to point out that Leitrim are in the same boat as Sligo.

Well done Sligo on a brilliant win. Seem like a serious bunch of young lads - don't think there would be too many who wouldnt like to see Sligo competing at a high level.

Brilliant achievement. To think Sligo had never won a provincial at this grade until last year. Hope ye can keep that crop of players together. Best of luck in the semi.

Also losing Donlon after the Roscommon game which in other years we would not have the same quality replacements on the bench to step in. Henry will now more than likely miss AI Semi Final but having Donlon back would be a boost to strengthen panel. The subs that came on the last day done well to finish the game out and were the winning of the game

A draw for our minors last night leaves us just hanging on . Looks like Roscommon ourselves and Leitrim for the third spot which will mean a Connacht Semi Final. We don't appear to be very strong and losing 2 lads from the winning Manning Cup is a big blow. Damp and Greasy pitch should help our Seniors later on.

Some posters thought I was arrogant when I totally dismissed New Yorks chances against us today. Well you got your answer .

Very professional performance against NY. Great days for Sligo GAA. A Connacht final to look forward to for the first time since 2015. A Round Robin Series against 'the big dogs'. A U20 AllIreland Semifinal. Well done to everyone involved.

Sligo were never going to lose today. They are in the Connacht Final, and a place in the Sam Maguire championship, rounding off a good week for the Yeats County. Well done to Sligo GAA.
