That means nothing anymore!

Program team published. 26 can be different on the day of the match.

Big game today. Must win really. Expect some changes to both teams before throw in. Haven't had much joy against Galway at hone over the years. Weather is miserable which is a pity, Hyde is a wild spot in the wind! Looking forward to it. Best of luck to all the lads and safe travels to our neighbours making the journey.

Terrible record against Galway in the Hyde apart from the Div 2 win a few years ago. Bets of luck to the team. Great for the town to have Galway at home on a bank holiday, should be good craic in the pubs.

O Carroll, Fallon, Dolan start. Stack on the bench. Comer in the stand. Good luck boys

Poor game. Conditions played a part but very disappointing performance. Few of our big players struggling so far this year. I don't see any structure to this team it's like it's thrown together. We got destroyed in midfield today. The dubs with no win yet will bring in the big players in two weeks. Donie was very stupid getting that red card but overall disappointing performance all over

If last week was bad this was woeful. I know the wind was bad but there was worse conditions in Salthill last year and it was similar scoring. The worrying thing for Roscommon is we had all the Brigids lads and Enda in the second half. Galway were without Comer, Walsh and Kelly. Defensively we seemed to have improved but I think some of that was also to do with how poor Galway were. Huge improvement needed if we are to get any more points in the Division.

Poor quality match ruin by the weather conditions. The win left behind us first half when we left at least 0-5 behind us. An experienced player like Donie Smith should know better but I was surprised to see a red given for a push to the chest.

Eoin McCormack,Higgins Conor Cox among our best performers today. Stack good when introduced. Too many of our players off the pace and struggle to make any impact.

Need to be winning our home games to stay up and after dropping a point today it will be achievement in itself if we happen to secure Div 1 status now.

Also no McDaid, Glynn or Silke.

Thankfully we got a point out it. Conditions didn't make for a great game. Galway found it a lot easier to run through us even when we had everyone back. We lost the midfield battle big time and kick outs were consistently kicked to the middle. Could mgt not see this on the touch line. One of our best forwards running him self in the ground doing defensive work (Murtagh) i don't think we need this from him. Also bringing on glennon in the last minute was very strange.

So many Galway players missing and we could still only draw against them at home. Roscommon have only Harney to come back of the big guns and he's badly needed. We'll need to beat Monaghan in The Hyde and hope our recent good form in Castlebar continues. Hard to see anything for Roscommon out of the games against Dublin, Kerry and Derry. We're poor at the moment. Hope Davy's saving it for the championship.

Davy has lots to work on over the next few weeks. It's early days but don't look great

Very poor performance and result today. Somewhat lucky to come away with a point as some of our senior players did not play well. Hopefully the training is scheduled to peak for the championship and a better gameplan will become more obvious. Our kickout strategy did not work today and it is not only down to the midfield players as Galway picked up a high percentage of the breaking ball, many of them in the same place on the field. At least when O'Rourke (under-rated) and Harney played, they ensured that if they did not win the kickout, they made sure the opposition did not win it cleanly either. It will be very difficult for the two lads to get back to championship pace immediately if they return. Agreed with a previous post that Cox, Higgins and McCormack were the best on the day. It was a long trip back to Dublin last week from Omagh, but the trip back today seemed even longer for some reason! Both Roscommon and Galway will have it all to do to stay in division 1 this year unless they both dramatically improve. Big match against Dublin now in two weeks time as they will be going all out for the points. Need a big improvement, but the lads have it in them if they perform. A big "if" at the moment.

Plenty of Roscommon players missing as well. O'Rourke, R Daly,C Hussey, C Heneghan would all be likely starters when available for selection as will Harney.

Can't underestimate the loss of important players that has opted out. C Murtagh, C Daly, C McKeon, E Nolan all championship starters last summer.

Brigids players that featured today only had one training session (on Friday) before playing today.

In 2019 four points was a enough to keep Monaghan up in Div 1 and I feel the best chance we have of staying up is for a simliar points total.

Cian McKeon would have been a great addition today, size/strength and always looking to drive at the opposition.
We looked to be facing a hammering in the 2nd half so a draw feels like a win.
When you consider we lost midfield most of the 2nd half and faced the gale we hadn't a bad 2nd half overall.
Could have sneaked it late on but so could they.
So it's
Derry and Rhubarbland 4 pts
Monaghan, Kerry and Tyrone 2
Ros and Galway 1
Dublin 0

Getting a point playing poorly shouldn't be dismissed either - I've watched Roscommon teams implode when a bit of pressure was applied -sure we'll see there's lots of football to be played 5 points is still very achievable which may be enough to keep us up we're not even n the bottom 2 this evening lads
And personally I'd still prefer a good run in championship and a croke park win in the summer than winning league matches n feb and collapsing against average teams in summer !

Agreed. Roscommon were flying this time last year but ran out of steam in the Summer with that tame championship exit by the Lee. It'll be touch and go I'd say but we can stay up in Division 1 but whatever happens in the rest of the League, I want to see Roscommon at their best peaking in the championship next June or July.

It can be frustrating to see poor performances like this but after thinking back on the game we don't know what stage of training they're at, still a few lads to come back. I would definitely take some below par early league games for a better championship. Although defensively we looked disjointed at times the past few games maybe they are trying to find a better balance between defence and attack as Davy said last year. We'll just have to trust management. It would be great to scrape survival in Div 1 and push on for championship.

That's it. Look where winning the League got Mayo last year. Nowhere and out of the Connacht championship a week later. If Roscommon can hang on in Division 1 and then pick it for the championship, that's what we'd hope for. Don't know if it'll happen but hopefully we see a serious Roscommon team turning it on in Croke Park next June on a warm Summer's day.

Monaghan at home at the end of the month followed a week later by Mayo in Castlebar will probably be the games that decide whether we stay up or not. I'd be looking to give Kerry a good rattle in the Hyde as well, they lost all their away league games last year.
