Not sure what has happened to the old Roscommon GAA forum. As a Rossie living in Dublin, it was great for keeping up to date with GAA issues in back home. Hopefully some of the regulars will post again. Lets here from you folks.

Well this will have to do. This will do for club and county chat. It's not ideal but it will do.

Hopefully common sense prevails and the county forums returns.

The two intermediate semi finals fixed for Hyde Park while I hear the senior semi finals Brigids v Pearses will be in Ballyforan and Clann v Roscommon Gaels in kiltoom.

Makes no sense to me why all 4 games aren't in Hyde Park like they were last year.

Apparently all 4 matches couldn't place in 24 hrs on the one pitch as weather for next week is promised bad.

On a separate matter no surprise to see Liam Tully ratified for a further year with the u20s. Be interesting to see if any of the backroom team that was involved moves in with the seniors as rumoured.

Junior Championship up in the air again it seems. Ronans were putting in an objection to the county board meeting last night, I didn't hear the outcome of it, Boyle and Doms are still down to play on Sunday according to the website.

Anyone hear what way the clubs voted on the proposals for the Sam Maguire?

I read both proposals yesterday and neither really seemed great to me, why is the inter-county football championship the only championship not to have a proper tiered structure?

Apparently Ronans lost their appeal last night so Doms v Boyle is going ahead in the QF play off in the Junior this Sunday, Be great to finally get it underway again

Not sure what grounds Ronans appealed. Seems they were clutching at straws. County Board made a complete balls of it and should have done they right thing originally. Thankfully the provincial board have more between the ears and the right outcome was reached in the end.

Who out of back room team is rumoured to be joining Cunningham?

All 4 semi finals will now be played in Hyde Park, not sure what the county board was at by fixing the semi finals in Ballyforan, Kiltoom. Then again they are the same fellas that allowed the junior A championships saga run for weeks when it could have been sorted out straight away.

On separate note 140k raised for clubs in the car draw well done to all.

Hopefully whoever thought the forwards to tackle high up the pitch properly.
Instead of forwards running back to the 21 taking up space as the seniors have done last 2 years

Heard the draw for the Junior QF, I believe its on this weekend, anyone hear when they might be or where? County Board continuing their trend this year of not giving a flying F*** about the Junior championship.

Pearses v Michaels
Kilglass v Joes

Ros Gaels v Doms
Brigids v Wes. Gaels

Be hard call who gets to the final in the top half of the draw, expect 2 close QF and a close SF, but Brigids should get to the final, their SF opponents would be hard call also though.

I'l go Pearses, Kilglass and Kilgalss in the final &
Ros Gaels, Brigids to win and Brigids in the final.

How do we think the games will go this weekend?

Just wondering what is the situation if Clann B beat Doms on Saturday. Does that mean whoever wins between Castlerea and Faithleach will be promoted to senior and represent Roscommon in the Connacht Intermediate championship?

That's correct.

As for this weekends matches.

Brigids v Pearses. Clear match of the weekend on paper with the last two champions faring off. Both have found their form after a slow start, Pearses might not be pretty to watch but are playing to their strengths. A tough game to call I'd side with Brigids 0-14 to 1-10.

Ros Gaels v Clann. No doubt Gaels will use the same defensive tactics that got them over the line v Oran but in Clann they are up against a more experienced outfit who should win by 4 or 5 points probably something like 1-14 to 1-9

Dominics v Clann B. Not sure on the injury front but Dominics could keenly feel the loss of Daire Keenan, Keith Doyle if they are out. Clann B have had a great year, already have exceeded expectations. They have a nice blend of youth and a handful of experience players that won the senior County title in 2015. I'll give Doms the nod to reach back to back intermediate finals on a scoreline of 1-15 to 1-12.

Castlerea v St Faithleachs. Its really a level they neither of the clubs should find themselves in and it will especially be a blow to Faithleachs if they spend another year at this level. No Cian Glennon, Brian Murtagh doesn't help their cause but how Ciará, Diarmuid Murtagh perform or allowed to perform will be the likely outcome of this game. Castlerea after a few bad years are showing signs of life again with plenty of good young players in their ranks now but I think Faithleachs bit more experience to give them the edge 0-16 to 1-11

In the Junior A championships

I'd expect quarter final wins for Roscommon Gaels, Kilglass, Michaels and Brigids
