The Irish Mentality of finding something negative in absolutely everything, in this case a €32m donation is sickening, I just don't get it.

If he didn't give a cent, nobody would be saying a thing, he didn't need to give anything at all.

Fair play to him, absolutely phenomenal gesture.

I'm not a fan of Billionaires or their "tax efficient" fuelled philanthropy but he didn't need to give this money and he's not asking for or getting anything in return.
So let's just say thanks and put it to good use.

My thoughts too, but I didn't mean to start it on this thread when there's already one open on it haha

A few on the list still have injuries to overcome so not sure how much they'll feature in the NFL. Come championship they should fingers crossed be all available for selection.

@TobeaRossie yes Conor Daly has gone traveling for the year.

I heard Ultan is out for around 10 weeks, so could miss the bulk of the League.

Hope he can stay fit once he's back, has had a terrible time with injuries.

We'll need a lot of lads to step up and quickly if we're to stay in D1."
Why will the Brigid's players miss the first two rounds of the league ?

Because they're still playing for their club in the all Ireland series

The next game is early January for Brigid's and if they lose they will have 3 weeks to the start of the league. Unless of course Roscommon have it in their head that they have beaten them and are in the All Ireland Final mode already.

Eight. The return of Ronan Daly,Andy Glennon. Evan Flynn (Tulsk) Niall Higgins (Elphin) also return but didn't get as much game time as Daly,Glennon when they on the panel, both county U20 starters in 2018,19 and 2019/20.

On the panel for the first time James Fitzpatrick (Oran) Luke Glennon (Boyle) Declan Kenny (Pearses) and Senan Lambe (Roscommon Gaels) who would be the youngest as he's still U20 in 2024.

I would expect the Brigids players to be given some time off regardless how they do in the All Ireland series. That was the case when Faithleachs,Pearses lost their semi finals a few years ago.

We'll lose some players and gain some players for 2024. Players like Ciaran Murtagh, Donie Smith and Niall Daly are nearing the end of their careers. It's a pity that the players don't all stay around for one year and give it a big push . There would be the talent and ability there for Roscommon to go a long way. There's no great team around. The Dubs are champions but they're not the team they were 5 or 6 years ago and Kerry are too reliant on David Clifford. A fully resourced Roscommon team could get to a semi final or even a final. (1991 and 1980 since we did those respectively).

Agree, I understand it's a huge commitment to be inter county player but to be consistently loosing key players every year those not help Davy. I would have been a lot more confident of div1 status with a full panel. I feel it's either go all out right to stay in d1 or hold tight and give Connacht it all instead

Donie Shine playing for Roscommon today. Is that the same Donie Shine that retired a few years ago?

Lost to Donegal 2-12 to 2-6 this afternoon in Ballyshannon. Trailed 9-2 at half time and in half we had as much possession but very wasteful. Could easily have been 3-6 to 1-12 draw when Shaun Patton saved from Diarmuid Murtagh. Then from that deep into added with the last kick of the game we got turned over and on the counter and Donegal doubled their 3 point lead to 6 at the full time whistle. Some decent individual display but collectively plenty of work required before the league starts in 6 weeks.
