Good luck to Eamon M. He will need it. Hope he can manage the weekly commute from Dingle to Lough George. It will not be easy. On the positive, he will have long summer holidays, he's a school principal, and so should have not too many issues in the summer. Is there any way he can be put up in accomodation in say Tuam, for a few nights each month. Anyway Gaillimah abú, good luck Eamon.

Fitzmaurice is due to have some media engagements over the weekend, it'll be interesting to hear his thoughts.

Replying To giveitlong:  "I would not be surprised to see Michael Meehan added to mgmt team. Team has declined, based on results, since the loss to Armagh, and the introduction of new rules. 2026 championship wins were over Leitrim, Kildare and Westmeath. Our most recent championship win over a division 1 team was over Mayo in the 2025 Connacht Final. So for me the biggest job for the new man will be getting the team to adapt to and hopefully thrive playing the new football."
Why would he be added to the management team? What actual managerial or coaching experience has he got at senior club level, never mind senior county level?

Yes, he was a very good player, but so what? Being a good player does not automatically make someone a good coach or manager, and neither does being a good pundit or speaking about the game on TV. I do not see what he has done so far to justify being brought into a senior county management team. Leave him at the punditry.
