Isn't Pearse Stadium out of commission to do the floodlights?Thought it was but maybe not.

Looks like the intermediate matches are the openers to the senior which is fair enough. Pretty standard for qf & sf. systematic (Galway) - Posts: 118 - 23/09/2024 19:19:39 2571516 Link 0 |

I'd imagine all the quarters will be they streamed all 4 last week Unless they let TG4 televise one which I highly doubt jm25 (Galway) - Posts: 1265 - 24/09/2024 12:32:32 2571600 Link 0 |
What's everyone's predictions? Surely it's not going to be a predictable Corofin, Moycullen, Salthill and Tuam by the end of the weekend. Will Comer be back in action for Annadown doesn anyone know ?

Word is he will play but will be struggling. Expect a few high balls to be sent in.

I expect there will be at least one shock from Oughterard v Moycullen or, Dunmore v Salthill/K. Oughterard will be full of confidence after their last game and have pushed Moycullen close in the past. All these lads know each other very well. Salthill/K and Dunmore have not met each other in a long time. As star studded as the starting 15 is for Salthill, Dunmore cannot be underestimated, they have a fantastic manager and with the structure they play, this game could go down to the wire. Looking forward to a cracking weekend of games. WonTon5 (Galway) - Posts: 15 - 24/09/2024 20:16:09 2571673 Link 1 |
I have to agree. I think Oughterard confidence is up. Will be a tense match, and it's going to be cousins playing cousins in this match, they all know each other. Moycullen won't get the win easily, if they win, I still think they will with the team they have now. I'm yet to be impressed by this salthilll knocknacara team, a lot of hype but they haven't been tested, let's see what the weekend brings. Dunmore are a great team, but haven't peaked yet, this could be their day. I think Tuam could beat Annadown. The weather is going to be stormy on Sunday so it's anyone's game on a day like that. Annaghdown / Tuam would seem to be the closest / hardest to call. Don't think Dunmore have the firepower to trouble SK, have been up and down this campaign so far. Moycullen's experience should see them prevail against their neighbours who I feel have overachieved somewhat by getting this far. Triffic (Galway) - Posts: 157 - 25/09/2024 10:56:52 2571737 Link 0 |
I am wary of Oughterard. A few weeks ago they looked almost certain to be in a relegation battle instead after 2 great performances they are in the QF. They are going in as big underdogs but have the monaghans and the Tierneys surrounded by a solid team. I expect them to really attack us. They'll want no regrets . The kitchen sink will be thrown Moycullen need to match the energy. I think they will and will pull away in the final quarter. I expect it to be a cracker galwayfball (Galway) - Posts: 1704 - 25/09/2024 11:38:56 2571755 Link 1 |
I expect the four top seeds to go through, Tuam against Annaghdown probably the narrow one to call. Salthill have too much quality for Dunmore. Moycullen game will be tight for a while but if Oughterard conceded 3-12 to Milltown then they won't keep Moycullen to a reasonable score. Kilannin not good enough to trouble Corofin. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 789 - 25/09/2024 13:30:24 2571783 Link 0 |
Oughterand and Moycullen will be fantastic game. Wont be much between them. Oughterard will very much fancy themselves and if Matthew,Enda,Cian Ryan and Niall all play well and dont concede any soft goal theyl be right there at the end. Conceding 3-11 against milltown is worrying as Moycullen will be much stronger outfit and Peter Cooke will have more fitness in the tank. Would love to do it but Moycullen might just have a bit more off the bench near the end. Clancesee (Galway) - Posts: 4 - 25/09/2024 14:10:56 2571804 Link 1 |
It's hard to foresee how teams beaten twice group games are going to be successful against opposition who have 100% record, the only caveat being Comers participation or otherwise may have a big influence on the Annaghdown Tuam game.

You have to assess the relative strength of opposition. Annaghdown were in a weak group . Tuam were in a strong one. I would be very surprised if the Stars dont win, regardless of Damo's fitness. But I've been surprised before

Tuam will win that pulling up.. Enda Mullarkey out for Annaghdown as well.. Corofin, Salthill, Moycullen and Tuam to go through as best four Belclare7 (Galway) - Posts: 109 - 25/09/2024 17:56:19 2571842 Link 0 |
Dunmore came into game well and had a heap of wides as did lettermore but in first 20 lettermore were totally dominating and missed 2 or 3 good goal chances and could easily had a big lead

Some good intermediate games this weekend. I expect the winner of the whole thing to actually come from the prelims. Ros4sam1 (Roscommon) - Posts: 11 - 26/09/2024 09:02:00 2571890 Link 0 |
Mullarkey out for Annaghdown is a big blow but if Comer is fit I can still see them putting it up to Tuam. Leonard looks to be still out for Corofin, rumours of him having surgery next week. Killanin just dont have the panel to match Corofin tho, they have plenty of replacements. Oughterard could catch Moycullen, alot of people saying they should be in relegation but truth be known, they should have beaten Corofin in the group stage. Cant see Dunmore having enough for Salthill, even tho Gary Delaney has made a top job and could have a trick up his sleeve! We are in for a very exciting weekend!
