I think Menlough would like to win the game and get promoted to Intermediate football for 2024, whatever about going to represent in Galway in Connacht.

Has anyone a link to 2024 national football league fixtures? Can't seem to find them anywhere but seeing reports or first game is mayo in salthill and last game is in killarney. Mayonman (Galway) - Posts: 1881 - 31/10/2023 13:22:03 2511051 Link 0 |
I can see Joyce bringing in Kilcommons from Annaghdown. He had a super year for a club that had internal problems and if it was not for him (and Comer) they would be in the intermediate relegation battle. Carrying a team is a lot harder that just fitting into strong team.

I see Maigh Cuilinn winning a tight game on Sunday by a point or 2. Will Daith Burke play now his hurlng is finished with Turlough he would obv be an option but would depend on amount of ball work he has done etc fitness not an issue? I fancy Maigh Cuilinn to get through Connacht comfortably enough. Be great for them to have a serious craic at AI again which they will IMO can see them going all the way. As a nuetral I didn want Kilmacud to win against Ballyboden purely for the fact I wanted Shane Walsh to have a break as last year he was a shadow of himself and the club series and travelling after def did not help IMO. If Maigh Cuilinn do go far PJ will need to manage the players properly the Sean Kellys Peter Cooke etc. Kilanin to beat Michaels in the relegation with Michaels joining Spideal in intermediate. Lmore only need to win against spideal who are already down. Surprised Michaels in this situation with their underagae success best chance have is another appeal Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 275 - 31/10/2023 15:38:26 2511071 Link 1 |
The appeal has backfired big time for Michaels.

Nothing easy there. Great opportunity to bring up younger talent against such great opposition to give us a deeper team with a better bench. Rest some of our sure starters a little.

Absolutely nobody has any time for St Micheal's after this appeal drama. Hope Killanin get through .

I was at that game Pope. It was the 1985 final and Mayo beat Galway 0-6 to 1-1. I remember some Mayo fans next to me commenting on how woefully bad both teams were and that the winners were definitely going to go no further. Mayo went on to win the all-Ireland.

Every time you comment it is about Annaghdown and Kilcommins. Good athlete but there is plenty of them in Galway who also have bags more football. I agree he had a good year but he would be taking the place of someone else on PJ's panel, in my opinion. It will be a strong and competitive panel in 2024 and that reflects the talent pool we have available to us. Hoping it translates into success. Will be interesting to see how Corofin approach their own kickouts on Sunday. Moycullen will squeeze up but you can't really bomb it long against them because you will be kicking towards Cooke, Clarke, McLoughlin, Maloney and Gallagher. Power will have to find a way of getting them off quick or hitting them into pockets which will be difficult. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 761 - 01/11/2023 10:25:45 2511139 Link 0 |

Wonder if they will both change strategy? Hard to know.

Galway would want to have enough points in the bag before they go to Dublin and then Kerry for the final two rounds.

It will certainly a battle of two different styles. Some great match ups in store. A lot of the county panel on show at the weekend. Would love to see Jason Leonard and Ian Burke available for Corofin to add to the excitement. It will be a close one but Moycullen to see it out. Where is Leonard? Injury or Travelling? Hoping the weather is decent for it too Eire89 (Galway) - Posts: 275 - 02/11/2023 11:23:13 2511267 Link 0 |
Travelling. And Ian Burke in university in France. Two big losses but Leonard has been pivotal to Corofin over the last few years.

Fine and saucy €25 for the Co Final on Sunday and don't come on saying you get 2 games. Senior football supporters will only be there for the senior game. Dearest club final in the country. Kerry County final €20, Limerick County Final €15 hashtag2017 (Galway) - Posts: 173 - 02/11/2023 12:47:34 2511287 Link 0 |
€20 for our senior final and the week later 15€ to attend the intermediate so you are getting better value with the two finals on the same day in one venue.
