We are (trying to find them) but they ain't there, if they were they would play If it wasn't for Niland we would have been beaten on the scoreboard as badly as on the grass It's not a matter of size as such. It's a style of player issue. But you can't fill your middle third with loose ball sniper types and expect them to suddenly become physical scrappy types, Monaghan, Lee and Glennon didn't get into a county team due to their ability to secure hard won possession. Up to management to find a solution that makes us competitive, that's what they are there for. If we beat Antrim and Dublin we will be back in the LF if Kilkenny win their remaining games. You may rediscover your hope then :) If we don't beat Antrim that's the management done anyway. And if we can't beat Dublin at home we don't deserve to qualify Stool Pigeon (Galway) - Posts: 915 - 06/05/2024 17:37:58 2543361 Link 3 |
Was Fahy playing no6 in Wexford? I didn't travel myself, so I wasn't sure from the GaaGo pictures. Mac did seem to be playing wing, even though Past hurler there thought Wexford were running past Mac up the middle? Anyway, Fahy is playing half back on a team that has conceded TWENTY NINE scores in both of the last two games, admittedly pressured hugely by an 8-12 sector that can't get on enough ball, or ever seem to put opposition midfield/half backs on the back foot. Unless something has changed that mini league format you mentioned is well.... made up. 3 or more teams finish level on points scoring difference between those three or more teams only will be used as the differential. Differs from Munster who use the traditional scoring difference of all teams in the round robin. Doesn't change what you say though. Win both games Wexford will be in a Leinster final. Due to scoring difference. SamandLiamSoon (Galway) - Posts: 624 - 06/05/2024 22:18:53 2543408 Link 1 |
Ah ok I knew it was something like that!

McInerney was playing 5 Why that was only our management can answer, along with why our third best fullback on the grass was actually playing in the position and we had two players in our HB line playing 5 and 7 who have many qualities but ball striking out of hand would not be high on the list for either, playing either side of a ball playing 6 who had his hands full I'm sure brighter minds than I could make sense of that. I hope so, anyway Stool Pigeon (Galway) - Posts: 915 - 07/05/2024 09:27:22 2543446 Link 3 |
Will be interesting to see how this Leinster u20 draw plays out. We could do with Wexford beating Dublin so that we can shove Offaly and Kilkenny to the same side of the draw in the semi. We have already hammered Dublin so we know what level roughly they are at. No idea about Wexford but I see the Dubs are favourites at home. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 904 - 07/05/2024 16:36:48 2543527 Link 1 |
I really can't see us winning against Dublin. And I'm the most positive poster on this whole forum after Katser.

Lads from Wexford and Ursula Jacob wondering why we're not playing young lads. I read in today's paper that Lee Chin is in the Wexford panel for 13 years or more. I don't think there's many players older than Chin on the Galway panel. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4148 - 08/05/2024 14:12:35 2543683 Link 1 |
Chin probably the best hurler in the country at the moment. Wexford had 4 players from the minor panel in'19 that were hammered by Galway starting last Saturday. How many from that fine team have Galway managed to bring through. Was talking to Galway supporters on Saturday and their feeling was that there's been too much loyalty shown to players from 2017/18 and the panel needs to be freshened up. You'll have the knowledge whether that's a fair assessment or not.

They weren't up to much anyway. They got hammered by our young lads in the Walsh Cup final.

And possibly 3 more could have started or be in match day panel but for injury and studies HurlingBuzz (Wexford) - Posts: 552 - 08/05/2024 16:16:21 2543706 Link 1 |
Yes Viking positively is always a good thing! A belated congratulations to Wexford on their win fully justified. I was very disappointed with the Galway attitude and performance as I was expecting much more. Obviously if We continue to perform as badly again in our next match then We will struggle big time. I'm expecting the lads to get stuck in and win our last two games and see what the outcome is. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2583 - 08/05/2024 17:57:20 2543721 Link 2 |
We could do with drawing Dublin rather than Offaly here in the u20. The standard in this Dublin Wexford game is atrocious. Offaly put up a big score against Laois and we know they are plenty strong having played them already. galway19 (Galway) - Posts: 904 - 08/05/2024 19:47:28 2543733 Link 1 |
Dublin beat Wexford by 4 points. Tight match all the way until the end.

Poor game ok. We were badly lacking scoring threat. Lads tried hard though and there will be a few Seniors come through from that team. One or 2 next year.

Chin is 31 years and 7 months, unless his wiki page has fake dob news.

Why, if we can't beat Offaly now it's all the one. To be fair they shoulda woulda coulda but they didn't on day one, when they were at home, had a game the week before to tune up, we were terrible for the most part and the referee didn't do us any favours, they led by 4 with an extra man with 5 minutes left and Offaly still couldn't get the job done. Why would we be scared of facing them again? Stool Pigeon (Galway) - Posts: 915 - 09/05/2024 08:06:21 2543763 Link 1 |
