Replying To baire: "Our superior in the Liam McCarthy?
Liam McCarthy Galway 5 Wexford 5
Sam Maguire Galway 9 Wexford 0
I wonder how Galway would have fared if they concentrated on one code only. If the hurlers had the likes of D Comer, S Walsh, C McDaid, S Kelly… or the footballers had the likes of Dáithí, The Mannions, The Cooneys, the other Burkes…
I won't give you the record of club AIs, it would only upset you more!
Going strictly by the above record, today's game should be tight." We have 6 AIs in hurling and 5 in football, though our 4 in a row in football is irrelevant to this discussion Baire.

Replying To Kinvara: "I expect Galway to win handily if they play anything close to their standard of hurling
Wexford are a poor side, badly coached, average talent. If Galway can't get a convincing win then it might be curtains!" Your not exactly setting the world on fire, 1 All Ireland since 1988, looked pretty average against Kilkenny missing 2 of their best forwards, and distinctly average against Limerick last year. Think Galway are completely overrated, particularly since you lost Joe Canning, Maybe pipe up after the game.

Replying To Doylerwex: "Wexford have 6 all Irelands in senior intercounty hurling.
5 in football with 4 in a rowe.
Nobody cares about club or underage. Galway is a remarkable hurling county. Particularly given how you're alone in your Provence, but you must admit you've massively under achieved where it matters.
I'm not trying to invite you into an argument.
I was responding to an incredibly disrespectful comment.
The fact remains you wish you had our record against Kilkenny.
I always liked Galway. I remember the passion of the supporters in the 07 quarter final particularly. Ollie canning was probably my favourite non Wexford player back in the day. Eugene cloonan too.
Since you've entered Leinster, produced one all time great and one all Ireland a good number of those supporters have developed a massive chip on your shoulder that's harmful to our game.
I would generally have had a soft spot for Galway, but you better respect us. We're all trying to keep our game alive. Stop ruining it." Damien Hayes would be one of my favourite non Wexford hurlers. Would light up games. Shame he didn't get the Celtic Cross he deserved.

Geographically and historically in Connacht and Galway your next door neighbours...

Most posters here haven't said anything derogatory about Wexford, they know that Galway Wexford games are nearly always tight games. Listen to the ex-Galway hurlers or hurling commentators in Galway and you'll hear nothing but respect, both now and traditionally. Don't mind the online trolls.

YUGE win for the Galway Minors at Wexford. 3-19 to 1-15. Let's hope the Senior Hurlers follow suit…Hon Galway!

Clare hurlers had a 'free pass' of their own for decades as they didn't have football at a high level, and still did damn all.

Wexford up by 2 points at the half. Galway were sloppy and careless with the ball. A lot of needless turnovers. We have the wind in the 2nd half so I'm hoping for improvement. Hon Galway.

We really are a shambles.
A few examples of how badly coached we are.. or just not coached at all to be precise.
1. Fahy handpasses to Mansion, and then the Wexford player chases him wide, all fine to this point but instead of turning back around to his left and back to Fahy who's now free he passes a silly ball to Daithi who fumbles it and gives the free in.
2. Fahy pucks it short, and takes it back, after a slight delay he then just blasts it as far as he can and we lose the break. Hold the ball and draw someone in, play it off the ground if needs be... You don't need to just launch it.
3. Niland gets the ball and plays a long hit and hope into a 3 v 1 Whelan. If he sees that, he should be thinking "we have two free somewhere", or maybe he didn't even look and that's even worse.
4. Short puck out wide, and then under pressure back to Fahy.. all fine to that but then he launches it to a 2v2 in the HF line, Whelan wins it and passes to Fahy who without even analysing his options just drops the head and launches a shot a mile wide.
It's really no surprise we scored something like 4 points against Limerick in the last 50mins or so last year as that's more of a reflection of our ability under Shefflin.. zero plan or coaching. Players launching balls without looking, passing it too far, hitting players under pressure forward instead of thinking "Nothing on ahead, pull the brakes and turn back and find someone free and reassess".
Complete tripe... If we were playing in Munster there's not a hole in hell we'd win even 2 games with the aimless crap we're playing. This is sport from twenty years ago where teams just go out and play off the cuff.

I'm not having a good day gambling. City of Troy let me down, plus others. Still time for Galway to pull this out of the bag. Then onto Leinster v Northampton. The day could still end up a profitable one.

So so flat, management have a lot to answer for. We lost every single second ball, no hunger in them whatsoever.
