Replying To Canuck:  "Very fair and accurate assessment. No denying Gleeson hit Joe and a red card (that might not always get called) did not occur there and then. What transpired after is not clear. How such a perceived injury led to it being announced him been replaced but not actually happening and Gleeson's dismissal 15 minutes later. I say it again this has a smell off it but I will not cast any reflections on Joe Canning but suspicious someone else decided to make hay. I would like to know who got to who and how the decision was arrived at and hopefully that is not some trunked up story about an umpire seeing it. If it is all above board great if not remove the game suspension off Gleeson."
Why would you remove the suspension it was the correct call ??? You are swinging in roundabouts. Bottom line is the right decision was made and we have evidance to prove, Well done to the Ref and his team. Why have we to always undermine the ref even when he gets the call right ?

Replying To katser:  "OMG my heart goes out to the Wexford Minors tonight....what a sicking defeat! I was sure it would be Galway v Wexford in the All Ireland Semi Final!
Its Galway v Kilkenny instead :( We will try beat them for a 5th year in a row!"
We took a while to get going but fair play to the lads. If it wasnt for a fine performance by their goalie we would have won by a few. Still it was great to see us being competitive we seem to be getting better underage the last few years aside from the u20s losing to Kildare. Hopefully there will be a good few of that team doing well at Senior in the years to come!

You will get used to Katy. She is just an incredibly bitter one sided Galway fan.
Usually most of her hate is aimed at Limerick due to her actually being a Clare woman but with the Galway seniors battered out of the AI this year she is now picking on any little scrap she can

I have no doubt but that a certain Cork administrator who had a great record for getting suspensions overturned would get this one overturned...it would be childs play to him!

Firstly I don't undermine refs and secondly did he have that evidence when making the call. ? If he did then we have a whole different scenario. I actually believe all refs should have that review. However to challenge my own view I re-ran it. No question still Gleeson swiped Joe. Actually on review it did not look as bad but you got to be careful with slowed down footage. What I did think is that hawk eye is not required anymore if one of these umpires seen it from the positions on the field.
Now to go completely around that roundabout here is what I think may have happened with no proof to support it. Galway were being well beaten and needed to pull an ace out of the hole to help them back into it. It nearly worked. Someone went to who ever was communicating with the studio giving the information that Joe was seriously injured and Nilland would be replacing. The same information got to the ref some way or the tv information or the actual substitution and subsequently the retrospective action. If this is true and I say again IF are you okay with discipline handled in this way.
A team lost a U21 All-Ireland by a point in the '70's this way after the ref was told the injured player was gone to hospital and may not survive. The frees went all the one way in the second half.

Oh god help them and save them..they are trying their best and Kilkenny just fluky and stumble over the line...pure sicking!

Goal opportunities missed for us in the last 10 mins but Kilkenny were the better team just about over the 60 mins.

If Cork and Tipp progress who will face Limerick in the semi-final? Limerick will have played both of them already. Will there be a draw or will it be Limerick v Cork to avoid a repeat of the Munster final?

Repeat final pairings avoided first so it will be Cork v Limerick

Kilkenny werent flukey. They took their chances and stopped us taking ours. Any of us Wexford supporters could write books on near winning performances over the years! I'm sure you could too!

Provincial finals can't be repeated in AI semi final so Limerick v Cork in that scenario.

I think Tipp will come out pumped like Waterford did last week. They also will believe if they get that run like on Limerick, Waterford will not have the guns to get it back. Waterford will need to survive that early on slaught. I would actually prefer a tight close game. Who knows what we will get. The Dubs might be a banana skin for Cork. Teams seem to play up and down to the opposition. Westmeath should have beaten us in the league. Laois could have done it in the championship. Yet we beat Limerick and Tipp and Galway last week.

It looks like the one match suspension of Conor Gleeson stands. That is appropriate penalty for getting red carded. Time to move on. We will probable never know how it came down and why it was carried out like it was.

Shame he will miss the game. Obviously you can still win without him.

Thanks to Davy Fitzgerald for his time and energy during his time as Senior Hurling manager. Good luck in the future. Hopefully we will get a new man/management team that will keep us competitive and maybe bring Liam back here in the future!
