Just Joking of course. I hope I got a ride out of someone. Ha ha ha. In losing I still think Brian Cody did his best ever job of managing. More of a legend in my mind than before. Congratulations to Tipp Seniors and Galway Minors. Bad day for Kilkenny but they'll be back. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2113 - 18/08/2019 17:06:21 2227080 Link 0 |

You don't think maybe Tipp were just better?

Should he have retired in 2010 or 2012 ? - it was a pity he didn't go at the end of that extraordinary run of success. omahant (USA) - Posts: 2570 - 18/08/2019 17:23:46 2227102 Link 1 |

It's Coppers he should be heading to, not Hoganstand's national forum.

He should go, but he won't, I guess with all he has achieved he can pick his own time to go. arock (Dublin) - Posts: 4895 - 18/08/2019 17:27:39 2227107 Link 1 |
They were far better but Cody tactics second half played into tipps hands and contributed to the hammering.

Should have retired in 2012? All-Ireland winners in 2014, 2015. Runners up in 2016 & 2019 Leinster winners in 2014, 2015, 2016. National League winners in 2013. 2014, 2018. Name me a manager/county that has a better record than Cody's since 2012? Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2447 - 18/08/2019 17:44:47 2227122 Link 1 |
Sure isn't that all any of us want.

Maybe he should ask Mickey Harte to become his assistant and visa versa The_Fridge (Tyrone) - Posts: 2088 - 18/08/2019 17:48:46 2227126 Link 1 |
He should definitely stay. He has the correct template for winning. It's just the personnel arent quiet at the pitch yet. The way the sending off was early and against Tipperary it was a no hope game after. Tipp are no world beaters as we saw in the Munster final. It's just they make you pay when they get on top. bloodyban (Limerick) - Posts: 1710 - 18/08/2019 17:49:50 2227128 Link 5 |

The Mickey Harte of hurling but more successful with a real traditional hurling county, another wonderful motivator and his achievements are timeless. Kilkenny really fell apart in that second half which is not a hallmark of his teams. Donegal_abroad (Donegal) - Posts: 1319 - 18/08/2019 18:02:31 2227137 Link 0 |
Yes get rid of him...hate the sight of him on TV with that gammy hat on his head always spitting!!! katser (Galway) - Posts: 2192 - 18/08/2019 18:03:49 2227138 Link 1 |
I was going to state hurling; but I thought no, even the thickest of posters on here would realise that. You've proved me wrong.

Never seems to smile and if he thinks the sending off was harsh he needs to wear glasses. neutral (None) - Posts: 358 - 18/08/2019 18:18:52 2227148 Link 2 |
So you want him to go because you don't like his hat. Ridiculous thread to have up at the moment. If Kilkenny won today there would be separate thread about this year being his greatest achievement. Reality was that referee decision on sending off totally changed what would have been a close game. Cody has class and is the greatest manager in the history of Gaelic games weather people like it or not!
