Anybody here got any idea how the bookies calculate odds for all the club games that could be happening around the country. Are the odds based purely on form or does their research go a bit deeper? Say an odds on favourite team had some serious injury concerns would they adjust their odds or would they actually know???
It just strikes me that an astute punter with some inside information into a clubs preparations could make a few bob.

Offaly SHC Finalists decided over the weekend. St. Rynagh's defeated Belmont by 2 points on Saturday, 0-14 to 0-12. The Banagher side came good late in the second half, in a game dubbed The Grand Canal Derby.

Birr had an 0-20 to 0-16 win over Kilcormac/Killoughey yesterday. Eoghan Cahill was top scorer for Birr, who had a very impressive back line. KK found Birr's pace and drive too much on the day.
Football final on Sunday, sees holders Rhode play a young Ferbane side.

The final is Crossmaglen Rangers v Ballymacnab, a repeat of last years final. Cross are a team rebuilding again with some good young players getting a run out.

There is money to be made if posters here share as much info as possible within their counties.
I find taking odds on a Tuesday or Wednesday is more beneficial if your minds made up than waiting until the last minute.
Take for example Neasden Gaels v Fulham Irish in London championship semi final
Last Tuesday PP quoted 1/4 Neasden 3/1 Fulham.
That 1/4 quote was based on Jamie Clarke beating Fulham on his own.
Fulham have been recent past winners and finalists in London and by Friday the odds were 8/15 7/4.
If posters here comment with their head and not their heart yes ther is money to be made.

Interesting. I went into PP on Saturday and enquired about odds for the Crokes V Clontarf game. They said they wouldn't have them until Tuesday or Wednesday. Was wondering why there was a delay.

They are keeping an eye on this Hoganstand forum to see what inside info they can gather before setting their odds :-)

They are extremely accurate for the majority of club games, although in places are off.

Club championships on rte and tg4 is the best thing to happen in years. Always said the Dublin championship among others are well worth it. There was a semi final in Derry I think with 6,000 people at it. This needs to become permanent. Give the public what they're interested in and it won't cost RTE a fortune either.

Big double header in Parnell park but its tumbleweed in the stands. Strange given the potential quality on show.

The Louth senior football championship final is on tomorrow. Throwing it at 3.30 pm at the GAA Grounds in Drogheda it sees a repeat of last years final. The Newtown Blues from Drogheda will take on Naomh Martin from Monsterboice in a south Louth derby affair. It's the first time since 2009/2010 that the same two teams have been in the final two years in a row. In 2009 and 2010 Mattock Rangers beat Cooley Kickhams in both finals. Newtown Blues are the most successful GAA club in Louth and have won the senior championship a record 22 times. They are going for the three in a row and the last club to do this in the Wee County were Cooley Kickhams in the 1970's. On the other hand Naomh Martin have never won the senior championship and had only reached the first ever senior final last year. They were 6 points up at one stage last year but lost the final by a point in the end. Mattock Rangers have won the Louth Inter Championship this year and Roche Emmett's has won the Louth Junior Championship.

Ballyboden and na Fianna a brilliant game. However, the red card for young mchugh at the death was as bad a decision as you are ever likely to see.
Truly truly awful

Shocking decision.

Great game. This young Na Fianna team are gonna be a teal force in Dublin SFC going forward.

Looking forward to seeing McHugh and Basquel back in Dubs jerseys again next season.

Felt very sorry for Conor McHugh. What was he supposed to do in that situation?? That decision could have cost Na Fianna a SF. They are the coming team,.
Vincents were very poor, Guys like Eamon Fennel are have a lot of miles on the clock.
Guys like Tom Lahiff really showed well for Judes.

absolutely! Even getting all televised matches here in the states thanks to a fantastic decision by gaago! Nothing like club hurling. As a yank all I an say is never take it & what it brings to your community for granted. I'm envious & doing what I can to get a youth club started & it's not easy so thx to all who do make the clubs tick, some at near IC levels.
It must often be a thankless job at times. Good luck to all & a hopefully injury free weekend. slàn tamal

Tyrone final, ref awarded a bizarre stoppage time penalty to the losers. The forward essentially was awarded a penalty for slipping on a wet pitch. Ultimately made no difference as the winners, Trillick, had a 5 point cushion; but had they been eg only a point or two in front, it'd have been a travesty. Of the three major sporting codes in Ireland, GAA referees comfortably the worst.
