What has happened to St. Vincent's? They were awful.

Don't think I have ever seen Vincent's as bad. Only scored 1pt in 2nd half. But Jude's definitely owed them one. Would like to see Jude's win it out. They will have their work cut out though. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 13/10/2019 21:41:55 2243246 Link 0 |
St Vincents were very poor but in fairness to Judes they looked to be well drilled and were extremely hard to break down. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9073 - 14/10/2019 09:14:52 2243287 Link 1 |
Tough draw for Judes in the Semi Finals: Judes v Boden TD v Crokes Yep, Basquel travelled this Summer and will be back in Dubs colours next season. Class footballer. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 14/10/2019 10:22:18 2243317 Link 0 |
Congrats to my friends in Pearse's. I enjoyed the game, first time attending a final in Ros. Best of luck in next round. suckvalleypaddy (Galway) - Posts: 1662 - 14/10/2019 15:07:06 2243430 Link 1 |
Very good first half just a shame the contest fell very flat in the 2nd half but i suppose the winners had that game won in the 1st half. Elsewhere former Ballinameen Roscommon junior club footballer Gerard Mcdermottroe had a fine season with Castleknock in the Dublin championship. He once again outscored his team mate Ciaran kilkenny at the weekend which is no mean feat. Also well done to Ger Heneghan former Castlerea footballer on winning Westmeath county title yesterday and by all accounts James McDermott former Roscommon Gaels player is his showing well with Nemo Rangers as they aim to win a Cork title. When were Pearce's formed? I see it's their first county senior title..well done to them. Tooren continued their dominance in Mayo hurling with a hard fought win over Castlebar Mitchell's. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 14/10/2019 20:57:22 2243544 Link 6 |
1962. Had played in 7 previous finals and lost them all so this was a massive result for them as they endured their own House of Pain over the years. Would be a very big club , large population stretching from edge of Ballinasloe on the west to Shannonbridge on the east and going about 10 miles north of that line. Quite far removed from the rest of the county and would look towards Ballinasloe as their main town. A proper dual club that work hard at all codes and have a very competitive underage set up. Delighted for them.

1962, it was an amalgamation of Taughmaconnell and Moore teams. It is just outside Ballinasloe. The development of Pearses coincided with a lot of familes relocating to the eastern side of Ballinasloe, to areas surronding Birchgrove and north of Creagh, many of these professional would have been working in Portiuncla, Dubary, Cross and St Brigids hospital. The rise has probably coincided with the decline of Ballinasloe GAA.

Too many miles on the clock for many players. Apparently it's not a happy dressing room either. A lot of dissatisfaction with management apparently.

Castlerahan won the Cavan Championship for second year in a row after losing previous three and never winning one before. doratheexplorer (Cavan) - Posts: 1467 - 15/10/2019 16:14:46 2243745 Link 1 |
As everyone knows, the problem will go away if you just stop talking about it

Great achievement by them. Any team that can win a back to back county championship title should earn full respect And 'rahan deserve it. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 15/10/2019 18:19:25 2243776 Link 0 |
ya they have been around for decades but low profile, not sure how long in senior. Lots of lads went to Garbally College in Ballinasloe.

St Mary's (Castlerahan & Munterconnaught) won the senior championship in 1976.
