Cooper and Shefflin call on clubs to join Lucozade Sport's Club Crusade

May 14, 2012
Colm Cooper and Henry Shefflin teamed up with Lucozade Sport today to call on clubs to join Lucozade Sport's Club Crusade.

The GAA stars announced that any club that collects 500 Lucozade Sports bottle caps are guaranteed to receive a Lucozade Sport bottle carrier and 10 water bottles.

The Lucozade Sport Club Crusade initiative, launched in March of this year, invites sports clubs to sign up their adult teams to collect Lucozade Sport and Lucozade Sport Lite bottle caps for a chance to win €10,000. Clubs are categorised depending on the number of members so that clubs will be competing against other clubs of similar size.

Almost 500 clubs have already joined the Club Crusade and it has really captured the imagination of sports clubs throughout the country.

Henry Shefflin said: "Every club finds fundraising difficult in today's climate and with many adult teams drinking Lucozade Sport before and after training, it is easy to collect the caps from the bottles and be in with a chance to win €10,000 which goes a long way in running a club. I would encourage every club to get involved no matter how big or small."

Colm Cooper continued: "Lucozade Sport are giving clubs a great chance to earn practical merchandise for their clubs with the bottle carriers - something that will be useful for every club for training and match days".

Jim Geraghty, senior brand manager, Lucozade Sport said, "The Club Crusade initiative is really taking off with nearly 500 clubs signing up over the past two months. We are reminding clubs that if that by simply cashing in on 500 caps they will receive a Lucozade Sport bottle carrier and 12 water bottles. There is still plenty of time left so if clubs would like to be in with a chance to win  €10,000, log on to www.lucozadesport.ie and get collecting!"

Clubs can enter the Club Crusade by logging on to www.lucozadesport.ie and registering their team.
