You'll get some odds on that! As it stands. Bottom 2 in the betting and rightly so

Clare, Dublin and Wexford are currently below Tipp and Waterford in the betting, and the bottom 2 are Antrim and Westmeath.

Last time I checked, Dublin and Wexford arent in the Munster championship or maybe the bookies just didnt quote odds for them

Munster? This is the chain of comments I was referring to:

Even just based off of the minimal evidence of last night - Limerick will be the team to beat again. But we won't be anywhere near the league final which I'm guessing will be contested by 2 Leinster counties.

I've since realised that Waterford and Tipp can't play each other in the League final, as they are both in Group B. The final will be, 1st place Division 1A v 1st place Division 1B. There are no semi-finals.

Are you sure there are no league semi finals?

Oops! My mistake!
Doesnt really matter what way the league goes to be honest in terms of finalists anyway. Limerick will win it if they want but probably wont want to. A league winners medal wouldnt be the worst thing at all for Tipp but I'd say its highly unlikely. We are miles behind now and might not even enter the championship this year.

All joking aside, I would be shocked if we reach any of the available 3 finals this year. I'm really looking forward to next weekend though and seeing where we are at the min. Particularly interested in seeing how Breen and Kennedy go in their "new" positions and how O'Mara goes. There is lots of potential in Tipp but I think that this year is def too soon. I think wit h the exception of number 4 (with Morgan out) we are in a good place from numbers 1-11 but strangely for a Tipp team, its after that where we are going to struggle.

Most counties are still trying out different players and tactics. I wouldn't take a guess at who the finalists will be.
I'll watch this weekends game, mainly to see how KK are shaping up under Lyng, and seeing some new faces in the team. I remember watching the League game last year between Tipp and KK, and while it was a close exciting game, what struck me most was the lack of intensity in the challenges and tackling, which used to be always there when Tipp played KK, no matter the competition.

In the two league groups Galway or Cork look to finish top against Kilkenny or Tipperary topping the other group.
A galway v Kilkenny league final be my prediction, two leinster gaa counties for hurling purposes .

Yes I remember saying the same thing last year about that game. I think this weekend might be a bit different with two new managers wanting to lay down some bit of a marker against a big rival. From a Tipp perspective I think wins are important right now. We have won very very few games since winning the All Ireland in 2019 and only 2 of the last 9 games I believe. Having said that I'm more interested to see how a few new players go in a tough place like Nowlan Park and hoping to see how Breen and Kennedy go in their new roles.

Good news. I think the split season has helped attendances in intercounty and club but open to correction on that.

Interesting team for tonight. Nash Mike Casey Hannon not fit Byrnes not back yet so unable to start so kiely is giving another run to the fringe players in the backs. It's 4 starters not in the back line so I'll be interested to see how it goes. It's a huge ask on young fergal o connor tonight but I like him. He has a lot of what you need at this level but he's so young. We'll see how he settles. Richie English was isolated a lot last Saturday and tired I felt in the second half so he'll be keen to stay close to Duggan. Dan will be a different 6 to Hannon obviously but Dan is ultra reliable albeit won't have the same impact going forward that Hannon has but its important to see how he goes there. He'll likely anchor and Hayes will be keen to move up when he can but I see clare letting him off and dropping behind a bit.

David Reidy starts in midfield where he can get on a lot of ball. Himself and DoD are very similar to me but clearly WoD isn't ready just yet. Reidy has been improving steadily over the last 3 years and is very close to a starting berth so it's a big night for him esp as the next best free taker in the squad.

Lynch starting is a super thing to see. He'll need to be managed conservatively and build his minutes up. He needs a lot of hurling as he hasn't done much at all in 10 months. Houlihan gets his shot along with the teenager Shane o brien inside. They have the pedigree and class just about managing the occasion. It'll be a huge learning curve for both tonight. Casey starting will help Flanagan hugely. I think both those lads might play well tonight off each other.

Looking forward to it. Gonna be a huge crowd and great atmosphere. I was delighted leaving PUC last Saturday as I'd seen plenty to like and learn from as I'm sure kiely had. They've had a hard weeks training so I expect a lot of subs to be used too which will be good to see.

Saturday night under lights playing the neighbours with no real pressure on is always a great occasion for all involved. The league is what it is. So lets just enjoy the matches.

Impressive performance from limerick tonight..some of the new boys did very well..thought o Connor and houlihan did very well..think tonight proved how vital Nicky is but he probably won't be happy with first goal..some of the forwards definitely did themselves no harm,I will take into consideration the opposition..on the reffing I thought he was shocking, and on both sides..

Good performances all round and great to see the new lads putting in their hands up for selection. Even if they don't make the team they push the first 15 to higher levels. I think Kyle is better in defence and with Cian back he will be in this position come championship. Peter Casey looked sharp and will keep improving. Adam English played well when introduced and I think will see alot more game time this season. DOD best limk player over the 2 games and looks to be back to 2021 form.
