Pádraic Joyce is to remain on as Galway senior football manager for another three years.
Joyce still has another season to run on his current three-year term, but has been offered and accepted an extension of a further two years, which will see him continue as manager until the end of 2028.
The Killererin clubman has been in charge since 2020 and has guided his home county to the last four Connacht SFC titles as well as to two All-Ireland final appearances, both of which ended in defeat to Kerry and Armagh. The Tribesmen suffered a surprise All-Ireland quarter-final loss to Meath this summer and it’s believed that Joyce’s former county team-mate John Divilly has stepped away from the management set-up since then, leaving a vacancy to be filled.
"Following tonight’s County Committee meeting, Galway GAA have extended Padraic Joyce’s term as Senior Football Manager until 2028," a county board statement read.
"Details of the backroom team will be finalised in due course."
