Ciaran Brady has been named as Cavan’s new senior football captain for the 2026 season.
The Arva clubman previously served as joint captain of the Breffni men alongside fellow defender Padraig Faulkner.
Following the conclusion of inter-county and club duty in 2025, All-Star winner Faulkner has since departed the Breffni men’s squad to go travelling.
Dermot McCabe, who succeeded Raymond Galligan as Cavan boss in August, has handed Brady the captaincy ahead of the team’s Allianz League Division 2 opener against Cork at Pairc Ui Chaoimh tomorrow (1.30pm).
Having made his senior debut in 2015, Brady is one of the most experienced players on McCabe’s panel and also had the honour of captaining Arva to All-Ireland JFC glory two years ago.
