Cork camogie boss Ger Manley has expressed delight with how his players put a difficult start to the season behind them to reach a sixth successive All-Ireland final.

The Rebels struggled in the National League and Munster Championship after losing Hannah Looney to the AFLW and sisters Pamela and Katrina Mackey to retirement before turning their fortunes around in the All-Ireland Championship.

"We've a lot of players I suppose that stepped away last year. We had players who went to the AFL, we had players retired due to injury," the former Cork hurler told RTÉ.

"We had girls there a long, long time that were icons in Cork camogie and probably nationally as well. For us to come back to this level, come back to the final [in their absence] is brilliant.

"Did we doubt ourselves early on in the year? Probably did a bit. To give the players their credit, they drove it on, they drove on the standards. We did a brilliant six or eight weeks there after the Munster championship where we trained very hard.

"The championship is our goal every year. Our goal is to get to Croke Park and we're there now."
