Mount Sion are back in the quarter-finals of the Waterford senior hurling championship after seeing off Lismore by 1-25 to 0-13 at Fraher Field yesterday.

Mount Sion had been cruising towards a commanding half-time lead until Jack Prendergast’s goal late in the half cut the deficit for Lismore, as they went in trailing 1-11 to 1-7.

The second-half saw points from Gleeson, Stephen Roche, Lee Flanagan and Jamie Gleeson cruise the city side to victory and back into the business end of the business end of the senior championship race.

Elsewhere, Clonea booked their own quarter-final berth thanks to a 4-22 to 2-12 win over Tallow at the same venue.

Jason Gleeson led the way for the victors with a personal tally of 2-7 while Ciaran Kirwan accounted for 2-2 of his team’s total.
