Mattie Forde on his way to another score for Wexford
The Model County All Star has been linked with a dramatic return to intercounty football but has moved to shoot down any such notions.
Hopes of an imminent return rose when Forde met with county team trainer Mick Casey recently to receive a personalised training programme.
However, the 32-year-old insists this programme is merely being used to treat a persistent back problem and says a return to the Purple & Gold is extremely unlikely.
According to today's Irish Times, Forde says: "He [Casey] has done this for my own benefit, for my health going forward. It's not with a view to going back playing with Wexford. He's done this as a complete favour. He told me to do it for a couple of months, see how I get on." Tweet
