Kilmore to oppose transfer

January 15, 2010
The Kilmore club is expected to oppose the proposed transfer to St Martin's of their minor star Mark Maloney. Maloney showcased his enormous potential as part of last year's county minor hurling set-up and has already signed a transfer request form, which St Martin's have submitted to the County Transfers Committee. However, the seasiders will counter that the player is still living at home in his native parish of Bridgetown and that he travels to Enniscorthy each day to attend the Vocational College. While St Martin's offer the lure of senior hurling, the small junior 'D' outfit would be hit hard by the loss of such a key talent.
