"The Hurling Supporters' Group Golf Classic was one of the first big events we had at the course and it proved to be a great success. It also gave local golfers an opportunity to test out the course for the first time. "Our membership has been growing steadily since then and I would estimate that 95 per cent of them live within a 10 or 15-mile radius of Tyrrellspass. Most of our members come from the area between Tullamore and Mullingar." At New Forest, which is located just off the main N6 between Tyrrellspass and Kilbeggan, course architect Peter McEvoy has crafted a truly spectacular course that he describes as "the best course I have yet designed."
