ACL Div 2
Shandonagh 0 13 Caulry 3 16
Our intermediate team suffered another defeat in this years league campaign against a very strong Caulry team in Mount Temple on Tuesday last. Due to injuries and exam commitments Shandonagh were forced to field without nine of last year's championship team. There was very little between both sides in the opening exchanges but disaster struck either side of half time with Caulry scoring two goals. This gave the home side a commanding lead. Despite this setback Shandonagh battled away bravely and managed to score the last six points of the game. Although this was a disappointing result there were some excellent displays from David Duffy in midfield and Mickey Boyle and Roy Smyth in the forwards. Gary Flanagan also played well in his first full competitive game. With championship just around the corner we would encourage a greater attendance and participation in training.

U16 Boys
Shandonagh 5 09 Rosemount 3 07
Our U16s continued their good run in this year's league campaign with an impressive victory over Rosemount in Shandonagh. Both sides were evenly matched throughout and the home side held a slender one point lead at half time. Shandonagh got to grips around midfield in the second half and after a bout of sustained pressure, a long ball into the Rosemount defence deceived everyone and went straight into the net. Shandonagh were now in the ascendancy and Alan Hughes added another goal from the penalty spot. Despite this Rosemount refused to give up and the home sides defence had to work very hard to ensure victory. Once again this was a very encouraging team display with key performances from Cathal Craig, Alex Gilmor, Daire Conway and Ciaran Shanley. This will be the last U16 match until the Junior Cert finishes and the club would like to wish all players the best of luck in their exams.
