Moate All Whites club notes

May 14, 2012
U16
A bizarre last minute combination of injury illness and absent players left us just about able to field against a strong Shandonagh team. While the outcome was never in doubt we had great effort shown by Ciaran Ennis,Ruairi Cunningham,David McGinley and Billy Berry in particular.

U12
The benefit of the Go Games format was clear in two great games against Caulry with all players getting full games and the result being secondary. Two young Moate teams put it up to our neighbours who had to work hard to win one game and draw the other but credit to both sides for the high level of skill and great spirit on display

U14
Caulry were our opponents again the following night at the older age group and this really was the original game of two halves. The visitors were well ahead at half time having made the better of the chances that came their way but we were always in the game with Paul Sheridan,David Mullins and James Bracken always looking dangerous and Gordon Kelly, Sean Berry and Andrew Niall working hard to keep the score down.It was a different story in the second half with Paul Gorman and Jake Fanning taking over in midfield and quality ball going into Robbie Forde in particular who terrorised the Caulry defence ably assisted by Jason Murphy,PJ McCormack and Callum Jones. At the other end Willie Higgins was mopping everything up and Thomas Berry and Ciaran Lynam were both flying at wing back.On a pretty miserable evening both teams contributed to what was a great game where we emerged winners on a score line of 7-10 to 7-3.
