Raharney Hurling Club Notes

Championship Draws 2012
In the senior championship Raharney will play Clonkill in the first round with St Oliver Plunketts and St Brigids also in our group. In the Intermediate championship Raharney will also play Clonkill in the first round. 2 rounds of the Intermediate championship will be played in April prior to the senior championship. In the junior championship Raharney drew Castlepollard in the first round. The hurling leagues are scheduled to begin in early March.

Leinster Colleges B Hurling Final
St Josephs Rochfortbridge will play Colaiste Eanna of Dublin in the Leinster final on Saturday 4th February at 2PM in Clane. Best of luck to the team in the final especially all the Raharney lads.

Committee Meeting
A committee meeting of the hurling club will take place on Saturday 4th February at 8PM in the Tennis Pavilion. All committee members are requested to attend.

First Aid course
The club will be organising a first aid course for all coaches over the next few weeks. The first aid course will be given by Michael Duggan, Fire Fighter and Paramedic (PHECC) of the Westmeath Sports Partnership. The course will take place on 2 weekday evenings or all day Saturday. It is important that all coaches complete this course. Pease contact Brendan Shaw for details.

Mass for deceased members
A mass in memory of deceased members of the Hurling Club will be held on Sunday Feb 12th at 10am in Raharney. Following mass refreshments will be served at the pavillion in Joristown to mark the start of the Joristown development project. All are welcome.

Get fit and into shape for Paddy's Day
Following on from the success of the 'Raharney's Biggest Loser' competition, the club are running fitness training sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings at 8pm in Joristown Park. There is a cost of 3euro per session and people of all levels of fitness are welcome. There is also an optional weigh-in on a Thursday night after training for anyone interested in watching the scales.

Tractor Draw
A vintage Massey Ferguson 135 will be raffled by the club in aid of the Joristown Park development project. Tickets are €5 each or book of 5 for €20. Tickets are on sale locally from shops and businesses or from any committee member. Your support is much appreciated.
