Big weekend in SHC, IHC and IFC
September 02, 2010
The meeting of Ringtown and St. Oliver Plunkett's in the SHC quarter-final is the pick of this weekend's local club fixtures.
The sides will lock horns at Cusack Park on Friday evening with Mullingar side Plunkett's hot favourites to progress to a semi-final meeting with champions Clonkill. Raharney and Castlepollard will meet in the other semi-final.
The two IHC semi-finals are also down for decision this weekend. On Saturday evening, local rivals Delvin and Turin will clash at Cusack Park, while Crookedwood and Fr Dalton's will meet in the second semi-final at the same venue 24 hours later.
There are also two big games taking place in the IFC. A large crowd is expected in Castletown-Geoghegan on Saturday evening for the relegation playoff between neighbours Kilbeggan Shamrocks and Ballinagore. The losers will drop down to junior level next year.
Then, on Sunday, Rosemount and Ballynacargy will face off in the second of the IFC quarter-finals at Ballymore. Caulry edged out Tang in the first of the quarter-finals last weekend to join Bunbrosna and Castletown-Finea/Coole/Whitehall in the semi-finals.
