Dessie ties the knot
August 06, 2010The couple were married in their bride's local Castledaly church last Thursday and held their reception afterwards in the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone. Among the guests were members of the Westmeath and Garrycastle football teams.
The former All-Star's best man was his brother Gary, who captained Garrycastle to a Leinster club final appearance last year and was part of Westmeath's 2004 All-Ireland winning squad.
Groomsman Justin McAteer, who is the bride's brother, has also worn the Garrycastle and Westmeath colours, and like Dessie and Gary, was a Leinster medallist in 2004.
Dessie has already indicated that he will continue to play for Westmeath next year. Tweet
