Belief the key, says new Westmeath boss

Kevin Martin believes the Westmeath hurlers can become a force to be reckoned with if they just believe in themselves.
The former Offaly star takes charge of the Lake County in the National League for the first time on Sunday when Wexford visit Cusack Park, having already delivered the Kehoe Cup in the past week.
"If Westmeath are to get up to the Tipperary and Kilkenny standard at some stage in their lives, the mindset has to change first, believing that they're able to do it and believing that they're able to win and compete and believing that they have to put in the time and put in the work," he told the Irish Daily Mirror.
"It just doesn't come by turning up twice a week and playing a game at the weekend. The hurlers in Westmeath are every bit as good as Offaly if they put their mind to it. I was impressed with some of the players that have really come up to the mark in the last couple of games.
"Derek McNicholas and Daniel Carty, fully fit, I think they'd make any team. I don't know whether these players have really trained to a high standard before.
"They are actually capable of more. That's going to be my objective, to get it out."
