Croker pitch will be ready

The GAA is fully confident that the Croke Park pitch will be back to its best for Sunday week's Leinster SFC semi-final between Dublin and Westmeath.
Following last Saturday's Take That concert, the playing surface at the Hill 16 end of the ground was dug up to allow for a new sod to be laid. The GAA say the work was pre-planned and have dismissed suggestions that the pitch was damaged by concert-goers. In fact, the area that's being re-sodded was where the huge stage for last weekend's concert stood.
"What's taking place is scheduled re-sodding," a Croke Park source said.
"It will be ready for the match next week."
Not since Garth Brooks played at Croke Park in 1997 has the pitch being damaged by concert-goers.
