Gilroy: Westmeath won't fear us

Dublin manager Pat Gilroy
Dublin manager Pat Gilroy is refusing to read anything into Westmeath's unimpressive victory over Wicklow last Sunday.
The Lake County needed extra-time to see off Mick O'Dwyer's charges, but Gilroy expects them to be a totally different proposition when they face Dublin for a place in the Leinster final on June 28.
"They'll benefit hugely from that game and they'll give us a tough game as they have done over the last number of years in Croke Park. Teams always improve greatly from a championship match," he said at the official opening of the Lar Foley House in Baldoyle.
"Westmeath have no fear of playing against Dublin. A lot of them would have underage success against Dublin."
It wasn't lost on Gilroy either that Westmeath were the last team to beat Dublin in the Leinster championship five years ago.
"I think Westmeath were getting better as the game (against Wicklow) went on.
"They started to bring some of their experienced guys in and they looked back to themselves.
"Their work-rate around the middle was very good. In extra-time, they really started to hassle Wicklow and put them under a lot of pressure."
