Lake County duo confident of facing Dubs

Westmeath's Denis Glennon
Westmeath's marquee attackers Denis Glennon and Dessie Dolan are both confident that they'll be fit to face Dublin in a fortnight's time. Despite tweaking a hamstring in training on Thursday night, Glennon played the full 90 minutes of yesterday's extra-time victory over Wicklow, while Dolan was introduced as a second half substitute after a knee injury prevented him from taking his place in the starting line-up. "I felt a lot of pain, I felt a lot of tightness, and it restricted me," full forward Glennon said. "I've a younger brother (David) and he's been plagued by hamstring injuries for the last two years, so that was in the back of my head, that I have to mind it. "It's in the genes, if we get a hamstring injury we could struggle with it, so I'm going to mind it for the next two weeks and hopefully it will be right." Former All-Star Dolan admitted: "It has been a struggle this year. I pulled two hamstrings and then came back and gave a little nick to the back of my cruciate. So I'm struggling to get up to match pace, but it's just great to get on a pitch playing championship football - and the incentive (against Wicklow) was a crack at the Dubs." Meanwhile, David Duffy, Derek Heavin and John Smyth are all expected to recover from their respective hand, shoulder and leg injuries in time to face the Dubs. All three failed to finish yesterday's game.
