Waterford's Stephen Bennett is not going to rest on his laurels following his man of the match performance in the Munster U21 hurling semi-final.

Bennett scored 2-02 in seven minutes to help the Deise demolish Clare in the second half and book their place in the decider against Tipperary.

The 20-year-old was also glad to be back playing having spent so much time on the sidelines with a hip injury.

"It was my first full match at that level. You can do as much training as you want but you can't beat matches," Bennett told the Waterford News & Star.

He added: "We all know that last Sunday week was a massive disappointment, I suppose there was no explanation for it. We just promised ourselves that we would work hard and maybe lift morale a bit in the county. There is still plenty to be done."
