Derek McGrath says he is "under no illusions" about the challenge facing Waterford against Wexford this weekend.

The top two in Division 1B collide at Wexford Park on Sunday afternoon, with the winners guaranteed promotion and a league quarter-final place.

"When we got the draw for the league, we had Wexford, Offaly and Limerick away. On paper, we had the more difficult away games," McGrath points out in The Waterford News & Star.

"We're just taking it one game at a time. We want to get better and we want to improve with every performance. We have two massive weeks ahead of us because that result qualifies us for a league quarter-final as well.

"We have a game against Wexford and we have a massive game the following week in terms of a league quarter-final. The implications of winning a league quarter-final in terms of the board and the financial implications of getting to a semi-final of the national league have to be looked at too.

"We are under no illusions about what we have to do next Sunday."
