Wall enters Hall of Fame

At a special function, former The Nire stalwart Jim Wall was inducted into the Munster GAA Hall of Fame.

The former Waterford footballer won a Railway Cup medal in 1972 and his former team mate Michael Ryan told the Waterford News & Star about some of his exploits.

"No question about it. He played for Munster in 1972 and 1973, those were the days when everybody wanted to play for Munster. There was no such thing as players pulling out," said Ryan.

"It was an honour to play for Munster in those days. Every player in the province wanted to play. There was much more interest in the inter provincials in those days. The finals in Croke Park brought 40,000 people. No question about it, he was one of the best players ever to play for The Nire."
