The second programme of the RTE Nationwide special from San Diego airs tonight and it looks at the Irish who have made the city their home.

In 1971 Offaly won the All-Ireland SFC title for the very first time. Playing centre-back and midfield was a young man called Nicholas Clavin who was later ordained as a Priest and left Ireland in 1973 at just 25 years of age.

Forty-three years later, Fr. Nick talks to Marty Morrissey for the first time about being part of Offaly GAA history and a life time as a Priest in San Diego.

Marty also meets Declan Hartney who watched the movie "Top Gun" starring Tom Cruise in 1986 as a teenager in Kildimo, Co. Limerick and decided this was what he wanted to do with his life, joining the American Air Corp to become a pilot.

Watch RTE Nationwide at 7pm on RTE One.
