Kerry make it five wins in a row. Kerry defeated St. Christophers in a hotly contested affair in Boston in the Senior Championship that produced a total of 8 goals - 4 by each side. Final score Kerry 4-8 St. Christophers 4-5.
St. Christophers went in at the half ahead 3-3 to 2-3. One of their goals came from a penalty after 15 minutes when Brendan Monagle was black carded for pulling down a St. Christophers player - McGonagle was replaced by Lee Stacey. Graham Glynn and man of the match Dereck Nolan had Kerrys 2 goals of the half with points from Niall Sheehy, Robbt Croft and Graham Glynn.
Kerry outscored St. Christophers 2-5 to 1-2 in the second half, the first goal by Niall Sheehy a high ball into the square was fisted into the back of the net. The second goal for Kerry came as result of a pass from Robbt Croft to Joey Fitzpatrick and in the confusion in the small square the ball wound up in the St. Christophers net. Points were added by Niall Sheehy (3 frees), Joey Fitzpatrick and Robby Croft added a late point for Kerry to leave the score 4-8 to 4-5.
Next up Kerry will be Donegal on June 15th. This will be a combined Championship and Pat O'Brien Cup final. This promises to be Kerrys toughest game to date but for now Kerry are enjoying the moment.
