Donegal NY into Knock-Out Final

May 23, 2012
Donegal New York will take on Rangers 3rd June for the NY GAA 13-a-Side Intermediate Knock-Out crown.

Pat McGill's undefeated lads have advanced on foot of a 2-10 to 1-9 victory over a physical Monaghan side. Shaun Reilly's 1-4 led the field with able support from PJ Flanagan. Tuesday's win followed a 4-15 to 0-5 dispatch of Roscommon a week ago and a 4-12 to 0-8 victory over Kerry another week earlier.

Whisperings about Gaelic Park are that if anyone wants Intermediate silverware this year they will have to take on and beat Ardara man McGill's squad. Championship play starts in June and the Donegal panel aims to better their ouster in last year's semi-final and return to Senior competition. Club Cathaoirleach Laurence McGrath and his board have worked hard to deliver a highly talented panel to the Gaelic Park pitch.

With the 13 player lineout tallying 10-37 to opponents 1-22 the boost to a full 15 Donegal side just may prove them successful and the pundits right this time.
