A limited edition EUR15 silver coin was launched yesterday to mark the 125th anniversary of the GAA.
The collector's item, which was launched by GAA president Christy Cooney, features the Association's crest and a figurative representation of a hurler. Just 10,000 coins will be issued and will go on sale today for EUR36 each from the Central Bank and the GAA museum as well as other outlets nationwide.
Each coin will have a numbered certificate of authenticity highlighting its limited issue.
The GAA commemorated the 125th anniversary of its founding last Sunday with the staging of a number of events in its birthplace of Thurles.
