St Kiernan's London club notes

U16 London County Champions.

St Kiernans 2-08
Parnells 0-11

St Kiernans were crowned U16 County Champions after beating Parnells in final played in Greenford on Saturday 7th October. Our boys took the honours thanks to a strong second half performance, but they still had to withstand a late comeback from Parnells which left the destination of the title in the balance right up until the final whistle in what was a cracking game of football. All credit must go to the boys and management as they trained hard all year with this title in mind and St Kiernans have secured back to back U16 championship titles which is an amazing achievement.

ST KIERNANS: Brendan Prior; Mathew McGrath, Martin Sexton, Harvey Heath; Michael English (0-1), Jack Hannon, Max Carlow; Paul Neven (0-1), Caolan Doyle; Cloneth Gallagher (2-1), Mathew Joyce (0-3), Aron Gallagher; Elliot McPhun, George Cooling, Paddy Ryan (0-2, 1f). SUBS: Caolite Healy, Fintan Shaw, Sean Walsh.

U14 Conrad Ryan Winners.

Parnells 2-11.

St Kiernans 6-10.

St Kiernans U14 team continued the winning ways by beating Parnells in the Conrad Ryan Final which was played in glorious sunshine in Greenford on Saturday 14th October. Both teams were evenly matched in the first half as St Kiernans started strongly and registered some early scores but Parnells played their way into the game and at half time St Kiernans had a one point lead. St Kiernan's started the second half in determined fashion with Paddy Ryan, Fintan Shaw and Caolite Healy performing well and Sean Walsh was beginning to have an influence in the game. In the end St Kiernans ran out comfortable winners in the end but our boys did not have it all their own way as our defence withstand some late Parnells pressure.

ST KIERNANS: Thomas Hannon, Daniel Murphy, Fintan Shaw, Adian McEvoy, Caolitie Healy, Joseph Spain, Paddy Ryan 1-08, Sean Walsh 4-02, JoJo O Connor, Lucas McPhun 0-1, James Byrne 1-0. SUBS Ciaran Guthrie.

U18 London Championship Semi-final.

TCG/Taras 1-03.

St Kiernans 0-12.

St Kiernans U18 qualified for the County Championship with a 6 points win over TCG/Taras in Greenford on Sunday 15th October. The game was played in a very supporting manner with both teams determined to reach the final but it was St Kiernans who got up and running early with 3 points before TCG/Tara registered their first score. TCG got back into the game with a goal midway through the first half but St Kiernans managed to keep the scoreboard ticking over and went into the half time break with a two point lead as the half time score was St Kiernans 0-06 TCG/Tara 1-2.

St Kiernans had to face the strong breeze in the second half and were expecting a strong showing from the opposition but it was our boys who started the half in better form and added a few early scores. St Kiernans defence were outstanding in this half as they only conceded one point throughout the 2nd half and our forwards managed to score 6 points in the half and if it wasn't for wasteful shooting the margin of victory should have been much better.

The boys have a final against Parnells to look forward in a few weeks' time.
