Stage set for Battle of Britain

May 28, 2015

There will be a unique all-Britain clash in the Lory Meagher Cup this weekend.

Pairc na hEireann is the venue as Warwickshire and Lancashire meet in an eagerly-awaited 'Battle of Britain' on Saturday evening at 5pm.

It's not too often that teams from outside of Ireland meet in the championship, so this is going to be a historic occasion.

Neither side has been setting the world alight thus far in the competition: Warwickshire have won just one of their three outings to date (against Sligo in Markievicz Park), while Lancashire remain pointless.

The Division 3B winners are still in with an outside chance of reaching the final at Croke Park on June 6th. In order to do so they would have to register a resounding victory on Saturday while hoping that Fermanagh do likewise against Sligo.
