GAA President-elect visits Coventry

August 21, 2014

GAA President-elect Aogán O'Fearghail has stressed that the club must always come first.

Speaking to GAA Gaels in Coventry, the incoming President stressed that players living in the U.K should play with clubs over there.

"The game will always be rooted in Ireland, I have no interest in world domination," O'Fearghail told the Irish Post. "There should always be an Irish Link and it's great that we have second and third generation players playing and being involved in that link. The ethos is on the club and that must always have a link to Ireland.

"My vision for the GAA is to focus on family, facilities, fixtures and finance - family is so important, we want people to participate and enjoy our sports."
